They really are deluded. The midgies were absolutely awful and were blowing after about 55 minutes.

I've never seen a poorer set of full backs either, along with the masked man, and that big striker who came on is stealing a living.

It's not hard to understand thank you, it's just wrong. The rags 'had them over' and they are much slower than we are. They didn't manage to beat Norwich, Everton, Bournemouth, West Brom, Sunderland, Spurs and Arsenal. Very few, if any, of them are "quick, muscular and very direct counter attacking teams".

Sorry I didn't add the bleeding obvious caveat that they would drop points now and then against sides not packed with direct, muscular counterattackers, but it is an obvious weakness nonetheless. We'll see for sure on Sunday though won't we......

Keeping van Gaal in a job is a plus, but I don't think it's a competition they don't want to be in. Winning it is arguably their best chance of CL football next season.

The biggest plus for me is that they play on the Thursday before the derby.

Good point but i believe there's plenty of decent teams left in it for us not to have to worry about them winning it. Like you say, it gives them an extra game before the derby and should end any risk of them potentially catching us if we continue our poor league form. The more false hope they have the harder they fall.

Theres about 10 teams that they can draw next round that can knock them out, so no need to worry about them winning it. Dortmund, Shakhtar, Sevilla, Villarreal & Tottenham are probably the main contenders.
