Europa League

Even if we play a "Chelsea team" it still means Guardiola and the coaching staff spending 2-3 days supervising the EL match rather than preparing the team for the next PL game. It still means that the first team players that are not involved are limited in numbers during training, ticking over rather than focusing on the next game.

Given all the problems you note, the huge financial hit and the CL coefficient issue it just goes to show how stupid it was to not go all out for points in games like Southampton, Villa and the like.

Yes, but surely those problems would be the same if we were in the CL as most weeks there are Europa matches on Thursday there are CL matches on Tuesday/Wednesday.

It is just an argument in favour of playing a strong side in the Europas like we would in CL - but with a few youth players added to the squad and getting games rather than our normal first team bench in the CL.

Because it's worthwhile financially, commercially and prestige wise to be in the CL. The Euro League no one really gives a damn about relatively speaking. Not having a CL income stream will knock on to what we can spend under the two FFP regimes, what players we can attract, what sponsors will pay.

Sorry I had meant to reply to the post that you replied to. Not to your reply!

I was meaning about game preparation time.

The coaching staff that usually prepare the EDS can do it. Leave Guardiola to concentrate on the first team. Are there rules and regulations that prevent it, or are Uefa gonna change the rules, and fine us for not taking it seriously?

Give it to the EDS and use it for giving injured players their comebacks/match fitness.

I want us to storm the PL, we don't need the distraction

Don't care! Give Pep full weeks to instil his (dare I say it) philosophy

Never going to happen. Our owners would want us to win it.We should play the kids in the carling cup and fa cup though. Never understood why we played full teams in every comp.

No one gives a damn? Are you sure? Have you not seem the coverage the mightily Liverpool have had. It's on a par with the world cup don't you know
