Some of the comments on here!! Look, he wasn't my particular cup of tea and clearly isn't to some on here - but he appears harmless, amiable and prepared to take the piss out of himself. If his antics and personality had a 0.0000001% scintilla of input into helping the players relax, prepare and cope with the high pressures, if only for a moment - then that can only have been a good thing.
