Ever Blue

Just received the survey and this was my reply...

Being a season ticket for over half my life, I feel the current system is fine. The club obviously needs to continue to improve revenue though due to FFPR but I feel this is the wrong route. The club should maybe increase season ticket prices by a £100 -£150 but throw in all home cup games which would guarantee large cup crowds. This is fundamentally a working class club for loyal fans, please don't exclude us in this clubs wonderful future.

Not being funny mate but working class people can barely afford it as it is. If you increased tickets b that much it would be the end of gong to watch city for me and many others.

In tge economic trouble the countries in and a recent report sayin each club could cut tickets by 30 quid a game that would be ridiculous. It would be one lump sum I couldn't afford.

I think many are in this position to be honest, and many more have long since passed it. This summer we should be looking at a freeze on general prices, if the club want extra revenue then fleece the corporates, or improve sponsorship further (neither easy if we win nothing). My pocket is close to exhausted for football purposes, and I doubt I'm at the lower end of earnings as a match going city fan either. Yep I can still cut a few things out to afford it, but I can also cut match going out, so the club need to be careful how they pitch things.

Ultimately I've no doubt that the club want more corporate, and more day tripper, as they bring in much more match day revenue than season ticket holders do.

Before anyone has a go, can I just state that I'm not wealthy, have been going since I was a kid in the Platt lane on the wooden benches and sympathize with anyone who feels forced to relinquish their seat.
However, the way I understand ever blue is that nobody is forced to buy it and nobody is forced to move seats. The only way anyone would have to move would be if they accepted the compensation or prices were forced up to a point beyond their budget. From previous surveys it would seem that level 2 is going to have enhanced facilities and the club are looking to profit from it. Is it wrong to expect fans who sit in premium seats to pay premium prices?
It's not as if these fans are being turned out on the street. As seasoncard holders they get priority of selecting from available seats in the ground. Accept the view won't be as good, but this would be reflected by an affordable price. This priority is ahead of blue members, Jcl's tourists and fans who have returned to the club etc. The only benefit I can see for for an ever blue member would be having the opportunity to reserve a seat without renewing a season card for a season, passing the seat on and having the opportunity (although not guaranteed) of picking where they prefer to sit.
Personally I won't be signing up for it and would welcome safe standing to make match going affordable.

just type in the comments box at the end exactly what you think and if enough think that way it will get smashed, you can thank liverpool and man united ,arsenal and spurs for this the fan will pay for this fair play rule like we predicted and are town will be full of day trippers for important matches just like the rags game against madrid, out of all the reds i know only ONE got a ticket for that game.

......increasing season ticket prices by 2/3 times the rate of inflation year after year in a global economic depression
......... having pumped a billion pounds into the club - I can live with that

If the club decide to launch this scheme then it will be done as quickly and as ruthlessly as the family stand implementation. No one will force you out of your existing seat on level 2 but you'll be asked to cough up an extra £100+ for your ST or f**k off to level 3 with a £50 price reduction on your new seat to soften the blow.

If City fans think it's a bad idea then get it into the media via Twitter, phone-ins, etc. and make it a PR battle. E-mailing the club will do nothing IMHO.

I am more interested in what is going on on the pitch rather than "enhanced facilities". As we go on and win more trophies demand for tickets will increase anyway and there will be more corporate interest that may or may not be catered for by an expanded stadium. there is space for more corporate boxes and tha bollocks in the corners. This scheme is putting the cart before the horse and loyal fans on Level 2 will be forced out over time by price increases.

In my response in the comments section of the survey I made the point that seasoncard holders were potentially open to abuse or outright intimidation. If you are sat next to a group that wants their best mate / cherished family member to join them and you refuse to move you still have to sit near them game after game. Unfortunately not all City supporters are normal & reasonable members of society.
