Buy a blue card, they'll be transferred to that

Nobody will have to move...just purchase your season ticket...oh by the way let's go back to being shit because I think that's what a lot prefer on here....progress! They don't know the meaning of the word....JOGAMIGMOG said:What an absolute fuckin' disgrace of the highest order this 'idea' is. To suggest that in order to stop someone else claiming my seat, I may have to stump up a wad of cash on top of the already extortionate Premier League prices we pay for the actual season tickets themselves is a complete piss-take. It's akin to extortion and although I'm no legal expert it feels like it's bordering on being illegal. Either way it stinks and is a complete and utter betrayal of all MCFC used to stand for for the past 100+ years. If this is the way MCFC is going they can fuck off, and I've had a season ticket for over 30 years.
I really think you're missing the point. Nobody has to move, but our club may try to persuade you if this scheme comes to fruition....thin end of the wedge and all that ? BTW, who are 'they' ? I take it you're referring to anyone who doesn't share your opinion ? Progress doesn't have to mean disenfranchising your core support...............
Rightly or wrongly via FFP, success on the pitch needs to be funded sustainably, and success WILL attract plastic fans etc. Fans on level 2 are not being forced out, but I would accept are being coaxed into cheaper/more affordable areas of the ground.Tim of the Oak said:ALBY ALBY ALBY said:Before anyone has a go, can I just state that I'm not wealthy, have been going since I was a kid in the Platt lane on the wooden benches and sympathize with anyone who feels forced to relinquish their seat.
However, the way I understand ever blue is that nobody is forced to buy it and nobody is forced to move seats. The only way anyone would have to move would be if they accepted the compensation or prices were forced up to a point beyond their budget. From previous surveys it would seem that level 2 is going to have enhanced facilities and the club are looking to profit from it. Is it wrong to expect fans who sit in premium seats to pay premium prices?
It's not as if these fans are being turned out on the street. As seasoncard holders they get priority of selecting from available seats in the ground. Accept the view won't be as good, but this would be reflected by an affordable price. This priority is ahead of blue members, Jcl's tourists and fans who have returned to the club etc. The only benefit I can see for for an ever blue member would be having the opportunity to reserve a seat without renewing a season card for a season, passing the seat on and having the opportunity (although not guaranteed) of picking where they prefer to sit.
Personally I won't be signing up for it and would welcome safe standing to make match going affordable.
I am more interested in what is going on on the pitch rather than "enhanced facilities". As we go on and win more trophies demand for tickets will increase anyway and there will be more corporate interest that may or may not be catered for by an expanded stadium. there is space for more corporate boxes and tha bollocks in the corners. This scheme is putting the cart before the horse and loyal fans on Level 2 will be forced out over time by price increases.

Is it fair that because I can afford a season ticket I get priority over someone who can't and has to go on a match by match basis, who has possibly been a fan longer than me? Let's just scrap season tickets altogether and sell all seats on a first come first served basis and make it fair for everyone - old timers, Johnny come lateleys, tourists, rich and poor.

if they want to put up prices then they should put them up across the board but offer 0% finance facilities or even a modest interest charge to help people. Just stop these idiotic ideas.
