What an absolute fuckin' disgrace of the highest order this 'idea' is. To suggest that in order to stop someone else claiming my seat, I may have to stump up a wad of cash on top of the already extortionate Premier League prices we pay for the actual season tickets themselves is a complete piss-take. It's akin to extortion and although I'm no legal expert it feels like it's bordering on being illegal. Either way it stinks and is a complete and utter betrayal of all MCFC used to stand for for the past 100+ years. If this is the way MCFC is going they can fuck off, and I've had a season ticket for over 30 years.
Jeez, can nobody read, digest what they are saying? Nobody will have to move...just purchase your season ticket...oh by the way let's go back to being shit because I think that's what a lot prefer on here....progress! They don't know the meaning of the word....

I really think you're missing the point. Nobody has to move, but our club may try to persuade you if this scheme comes to fruition....thin end of the wedge and all that ? BTW, who are 'they' ? I take it you're referring to anyone who doesn't share your opinion ? Progress doesn't have to mean disenfranchising your core support...............

They haven't disenfranchised anyone yet though have they. The club has actually taken the time to ask fans their views of the idea.

Some are jumping the gun but I do not know other people's circumstances. I buy three tickets, one adult, one 16-17 and one child. I have a front row seat in the second tier of the family stand so will not want to move. However once the kids are too old to be in he family stand I always thought I may have to move. Now this idea could mean me keeping what I regard as a good seat.

The price will determine such though, a little bit of waiting and seeing here.

Before anyone has a go, can I just state that I'm not wealthy, have been going since I was a kid in the Platt lane on the wooden benches and sympathize with anyone who feels forced to relinquish their seat.
However, the way I understand ever blue is that nobody is forced to buy it and nobody is forced to move seats. The only way anyone would have to move would be if they accepted the compensation or prices were forced up to a point beyond their budget. From previous surveys it would seem that level 2 is going to have enhanced facilities and the club are looking to profit from it. Is it wrong to expect fans who sit in premium seats to pay premium prices?
It's not as if these fans are being turned out on the street. As seasoncard holders they get priority of selecting from available seats in the ground. Accept the view won't be as good, but this would be reflected by an affordable price. This priority is ahead of blue members, Jcl's tourists and fans who have returned to the club etc. The only benefit I can see for for an ever blue member would be having the opportunity to reserve a seat without renewing a season card for a season, passing the seat on and having the opportunity (although not guaranteed) of picking where they prefer to sit.
Personally I won't be signing up for it and would welcome safe standing to make match going affordable.

I am more interested in what is going on on the pitch rather than "enhanced facilities". As we go on and win more trophies demand for tickets will increase anyway and there will be more corporate interest that may or may not be catered for by an expanded stadium. there is space for more corporate boxes and tha bollocks in the corners. This scheme is putting the cart before the horse and loyal fans on Level 2 will be forced out over time by price increases.
Rightly or wrongly via FFP, success on the pitch needs to be funded sustainably, and success WILL attract plastic fans etc. Fans on level 2 are not being forced out, but I would accept are being coaxed into cheaper/more affordable areas of the ground.
Is it fair that because I can afford a season ticket I get priority over someone who can't and has to go on a match by match basis, who has possibly been a fan longer than me? Let's just scrap season tickets altogether and sell all seats on a first come first served basis and make it fair for everyone - old timers, Johnny come lateleys, tourists, rich and poor.

Quick question lads If you don't renew do all your points go?

I think they stay attached to your supporter number, so if you get a blue membership your points will still show minus the 1000 they give you for your first season card.

The way I read it the SC holder would have to consent to give up their seat before Ever Blue purchaser could assume your seat.

Can only see that it would benefit those who wanted to move.

Can't see this having enough impact to benefit FFP given it would be a one-off payment apart from securing future years SC holders.

Fair point but FFP can also be met by not signing players who are injury prone and having a more sustainable squad. Also, this "inintiative" might not help a lot with FFP. As David Conn wrote in Richer than God, the Sheikhs are very concerned about negative publicity and this could result in just that. The future wouldn't be quite so bright without the Abu Dhabi hundreds of millions.

In reality, a lot of people will struggle to find some way of paying for the inflated prices if they like being in Level 2. I won't be moving. They will then be effectively susidising the glory hunters / business people / Johny come latelies because people in the same blocks will be paying the same prices (except concessions).

For those that haven't received the survey yet, or won't get to see it.

As promised.

Good luck moving me and my dad next season at some point as he falls under the disabled category and I'm down as his carer!

Seems like a stupid idea to me in all honesty and it won't take off.

It's so fucking annoying. Every season there's something more divisive and stupid they come up with to drive a wedge between groups of fans.

if they want to put up prices then they should put them up across the board but offer 0% finance facilities or even a modest interest charge to help people. Just stop these idiotic ideas.

I agree. I wonder if anyone has gone for the double and voted in favour of this on the back of buying a bronze City circle? If so there is a seat waiting for you at Old Trafford.
