Everton (A) | Game Postponed

Is the game against Chelsea also postponed.
Not yet, I would guess all our squad and staff will have to self isolate and then be tested before those clear are cleared to play. Would think that will be before the cup games in 9 days, not sure if the 6 days until Chelsea would be considered safe.
Thats assuming no more test positive this week.

Not the cause of tonight’s postponement but I do wonder how seriously football takes the situation. Every match I see managers and players from opposite camps embracing each other without even a comment from the studio. Complete blind eye.

I have to be honest the other night I said to the Mrs I hope pep has not got COVID when he was chatting away with Bruce.

I haven’t heard anything yet but it’s a mockery if it isn’t. You can’t be concerned about Everton’s players and staff today and not Chelsea in a few short days time.

Surely we need 10 days shutdown minimum.

Doubt that will happen. There will be no training though and loads of tests tomorrow, Thursday and Sat with new bubble formed I would imagine. We will however have a severely weakened team if the five new ones are all players.

If you look on any Everton forum they are chuffed to bits the game is off , they have a few injuries and they cannot rotate their team like we could have ,and it will be re arranged when their injured players are available
I should think that many Everton players, staff and their families are quite relieved that have avoided the exposure and risks they would have taken meeting a club 'riddled' with an infection now claiming 40k new cases.

It’ll be the teams going to London that are at risk. The London based teams won’t be going to hotels in London.

There might need to be a rethink into playing football in tier 4+ areas.
That’s sensible so it won’t happen because the football authorities and the government have no common sense.
I still think the whole lot should be declared null and void. It isn’t just the ultimate risk, it is also the after effects. Lung disorders, fatigue etc.
However there is another way of looking at it:
There is a vaccine being distributed, is it very difficult for them to get their heads round maybe closing down now and restarting when the majority of people have been vaccinated?

Stay safe, take care.

Are you fucking serious, we're in the middle of a pandemic and all you're arsed about is getting players back fit, in what is a a shambles of a season that should never have gone ahead...
Bit harsh that moggy
I agree the season shouldn’t have started but he’s posting from a football perspective only.
There has been times in the past when we have had games postponed and I thought thank god, at least Aguero will be back when it’s replayed.

I think this notion of players being in a bubble, getting rigourously tested but then having to stay in a hotel where the staff arnt tested and nobody knows who they have been mixing with and where they have been is scandalous

Thats not to have a go at the staff but you would think with the amount of money in the PL, they could have one central hotel in a city to use for teams travelling, or pay for staff testing in the hotels.

Just seems crazy that this isnt taken into consideration
When football restarted didn’t Arsenal have to travel to Manchester and back in the same day to avoid hotels?
