isn’t that breaking medical confidentiality rules?
Maybe. Could be a good point.
It should probably be independently verifiable and broken down in to players/staff etc.? To be as transparent as possible without violating privacy.
isn’t that breaking medical confidentiality rules?
Well not when 11 men are going out to play 11 men who have just been exposed to 11 other men in their last match, no. People need to know who has got it and who they have been exposed toisn’t that breaking medical confidentiality rules?
Everton’s statement was fucking pathetic. We have a major pandemic in the country, and your club comes out and challenges us over it, fucking rotten. And the issue about fans being inconvenienced FOUR HOURS before a game, which only people from Merseyside (ok and the Isle of Wight) could attend means it wasn’t an issue. If neverton had class they would (a) have raised their concerns in private and (b) show concern about the sick people rather than a game of football. The European City of Entitlement 2020, for the 50th consecutive yearEverton haven't stated that.
They're said public safety is uppermost and there should be full disclosure of the information - which is a legitimate request considering we were 4 hours away from a Premier League match with fans in attendance.
There isn't an issue with Man City here. The issue is with the Premier League.
Everton statement:
Everton Football Club regret the postponement of tonight’s match against Manchester City - not only for the 2,000 fans who would have been attending, but for supporters on Merseyside and across the world.
Our players were prepared for the game, as were both the team staff and everyone at Goodison. Matchday is the most important date in our calendar. And this was a big one.
Whilst Everton will always have public safety uppermost, we will be requesting full disclosure of all the information that Manchester City provided to the Premier League so the Club can be clear on why this decision was taken.

In spite of all this, let’s not pretend Everton don’t benefit most from this postponement
Not how it works though is it? In football clubs, just like any other place of employment or school, the employer has a duty to not disclose medical information.. unless the individual agrees to itWell not when 11 men are going out to play 11 men who have just been exposed to 11 other men in their last match, no. People need to know who has got it and who they have been exposed to
Interesting comment - my first thought was 'are you merely expressing an opinion or has the hospital you work in told you that the season's over as a matter of fact ?' But the more I think about it, the more I think you may be right.Hate to break it to you mate but hopefully that's the season over... By the way I work in a Hospital. :(
Dont be so stupid. If that was the case everyone would be in the same boat you are now moaning about - a lack of transparency. Got to know who has been exposed to who. 'Good point'. BollocksMaybe. Could be a good point.
It should probably be independently verifiable and broken down in to players/staff etc.? To be as transparent as possible without violating privacy.
Exactly. City have followed the proceedure of informing the league and from a safety aspect requested a postponement due to an outbreak at the club. The decision to call it off was correct but as 2 teams are involved in a game, the opposition who are actually at home and planning for it, should have been consulted so they can plan ahead
