Everton (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

He didn't 'leather the ball at him from a yard away' ffs. He shot on goal. The player slid in to try stop it, with his arm above his body. It hit his arm, which stopped the shot going goalwards. Not every touch of the ball with a hand is a penalty. But that one sure as fuck is.

You obviously have an issue with the handball rule, and you probably have a point in some cases. But you are trying to shoehorn your issue into this particular decision. But it just doesn't fit.
The shot was never going goalwards. It went 1 foot forward and 4 foot up.

Should never be a handball as the ones previously given against us Grealish/Sterling shouldn't have been given either

All this fuss surrounding the penalty.
Here's Clattenburg: Former referee Mark Clattenberg on Amazon Prime: "No one is saying that the decision is wrong [for Onana's handball] but we are saying that by the way the law is written, it is wrong and therefore that is something that needs changing.

So if it's not wrong why all the debate and crying?? Everyone knew the rules before the season started.

Dyche:
"We can debate the penalty all day. It has been by managers on Zoom calls to say it's a farce but that's the way it goes.

"That's completely natural. He's not putting his arm up to save it, he's literally jumping in to try to block the ball. How that is given as a penalty is bizarre in my world but I must be from a different planet. Tonight the linesman gives that and he's 18 yards away so I don't know who is giving what any more.

"Who knows? All the managers are debating it. Someone needs to stand up at some point and realise that can't be a penalty because he's just throwing himself in front of it to try to block the ball, that's it."

A crying mardarse as always.
That last bit 'he's just throwing himself in front of it to try and block the ball, that's it' says it all.
He threw himself in front with no regard to where the ball would hit him. It hit him on a raised arm, so it's a penalty.
Most fouls are committed when a player 'just' goes in for tackle, but misjudges or is a bit late. It's still a foul. no difference

They are completely different, as clearly outlined. By all means knock yourself out trying to make them the same though.
Nope. Very similar. Close in distance, zero intent, not threatening the goal (so no DOGSO), arms in a completely natural position for the relevant action (jumping/sliding in).

Its this type of thought process which is like a cancer within PGMOL and the main reason we are in the mess we are with officiating!!

Just home and tucked up. A brilliant second half display
An excellent goal by foden, as blatant a penalty as can be, bemused why dyche and seemingly some on here are thinking it wasnt. Arms raised! And a totallh sublime finish by bernardo after a nice block by alvarez
Special mention for kovacic tonight

Everton fans made a racket when one nil up but shut up and went home with our third.

As did Grealish in the cup final then. He Jumped (for a header) with no regard for where the ball would hit him by your logic!

Of course they had no regard for that. As their intent was to header (grealish) and block (onana). Was Onana suppose to know Ake would slice his shot directly upwards by the powers of telepathy?

Tired off yourself?? You should be!! Remember Z

Grow up little child
