Everton (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Huge win that, reading the comments on here then I must have brought us luck as didn't get to see the match until there was 20 mins to go and we controlled the game from the bit I saw

Defence and subs were great. A game that won't live long in the memory at all thankfully because it was fucking dire but the 3 points were all that mattered. Please stop playing Bernardo though fuck me. O'Reilly and Josko joint men of the match for me, what revelations they have been, one since played in his actual position and the other since he's been played full stop.

Game changed when Kova and Doku came on. They make us tick. Doku is relentless but Kova is slick, does everything at speed which makes such a difference.

Them coming on gave the team a lift - Marmoush suddenly became energetic and had somebody to play off too.

Should be a blueprint for the rest of the season IMO. Both should be starting every week.

First 75 were a painful watch, mind. But a win is a win.
right on, which makes me wonder why we dont start Kova.
Hope Kova stay for next season

Well done you beautiful blue boys! Toothless in attack for most of the game, insisting on lobbing balls into the box against their giant defenders. All it took was a fast and low cross to turn the game.

Much needed points and confidence for the team.

Everton fans classy as usual: jeering young Savinho, shouting “handball” every time the ball was chested or headed. Never change, Everton.

Hope that was Pep tapping up Branthwaite at the end there (and not Pickford).

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in. They fought to the end and showed ‘em, showed ‘em all. Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans.

That’ll show them know nowts of the alleged media. Ha ha ha

That shows the Specsavers needing, whistle blowing stupid poltroons we know as officials!! Now you know who we are! We are MANCHESTER CITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD.

In Manchester City and Pep I trust. :-)

Not sure what most of you watched.

Thought we played really well. Good level of control, good work rate, looked like they wanted it.

Superb goal by O’Reilly his movement was superb and tbf he had no right even being in the box as a full back.

Best I’ve seen Nunes play. I might even start warming to him if he carries on like that.

I think Pep's played that pretty much perfectly.

Tough away game against one of the most in-form teams in the league. Keep it tight for 60-70 minutes and don't give too many chances away. Then go for it in the last 20-30 minutes and get the win.

Not glamorous but probably one of the most important 3 points of the season.

Since the Liverpool match, that is W6 D2 L1 in all comps. That's good form for any team. And the way Pep continuously makes the doomsday seers in the Matchday Thread look stupid is a source of great entertainment for me.

Get the fuck in there.
Make no mistake this was a huge win today against a team unbeaten in 12 and with their tales up.
Absolutely buzzing.
we won against two teams in good form
something to be proud of for sure

If that was in one of our previous league winning seasons we'd be saying how big everyone's balls were for seeing that through.

Moyes has them well organized and it's never an easy place to go, but we kept playing till the end, exhausted them by moving the ball round, and then Pep's subs finished the game (alright for a manager who never picks the right team and never makes the right subs).

Dull as shite but not sure that was our fault!

Doku made the difference today. Increased the tempo dramatically - got us to the pitch which he always does. Looked far better than Savinho early.

Starting to like this defence - nice to have a bit of stability and Akanji coming back a huge bonus (did notice he done as a #6) wonder if that’s another plan for the future.

I’m not just saying this because we came out with three points, but I thought we were better than most were saying. Everton out-of-possession play was very impressive in my eyes. There’s a reason they haven’t lost in twelve straight while playing the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.

I had O’Riely os MOTM even before his goal. He’s going to be a star. There's a lot to improve, obviously, but realistically, all that matters at this point is getting the points and securing CL, and this was a big step in that direction. On to Villa!
Ortega saved us tow times, otherwise we would be one or two goals behind.

O’Riely is a great player going forward, fantastic but defensively he is not.

Pep made correction to the selection by introducing both Kova and Doku.
