Everton (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I really don't think we played that poorly... This always felt like a match we would always have to win in the final 20-30 minutes, as there was no way Everton could keep running as they were, and that's what happened.
Compared to the fluidity, chance creation, intensity, decisive play and goal scoring from last week, it was very bad

A really good win, and that is ALL that counts right now.
Gvardiol was outstanding.
Kev showed that he can have brilliant games, and moments, but cannot string it together game after game any more.
Doku is such a talent and made a big difference, hogging the touchline and forcing them back, doubling-up to cope with his dynamism.
Everton are big, strong, athletic and well organised - a tough team to beat.
how i saw the game thanks I didn't have to bother

No Eddie
No Ake
No Akanji
No Stones
No Rodders
No Haaland
No Grealish

All started the CL Final against Inter.

No problem.
That just shows how depleted we really are.

Let’s hope Nico O’Reilly carries on scoring goals - what a difference he’s made in the last couple of months.

If that was in one of our previous league winning seasons we'd be saying how big everyone's balls were for seeing that through.

Moyes has them well organized and it's never an easy place to go, but we kept playing till the end, exhausted them by moving the ball round, and then Pep's subs finished the game (alright for a manager who never picks the right team and never makes the right subs).

Dull as shite but not sure that was our fault!
Yes. Tactical plan was spot on. That Pep guy may make a decent coach one day.

Thought we played well. They never really looked like winning it and all they did was go with the ‘we will not loose’ mentality and it backfired on them. Once we started to pass the ball quicker they couldn’t cope. Good three points as they were tough to break down.

Had to walk the dog at half time to alleviate the boredom, feared another goalless draw, very pleased with the win..

Given the form under Moyes, it's a very good result.

Performance wise, we just look an ordinary mid table side, some of our passing today was frustrating, bordering on abysmal, there was little or no press in the first half (it did improve second half).

Player wise, both Nico's were good, Ortega's best game for quite a while, Nunes worked hard, Josko by far the best player, Ruben had some decent moments, Gundo a decent second half, but some of the rest were quite poor for me, we'll need to better on Tuesday.
