Everton (A) Post Match Thread

That was absolutely brilliant...we totally bossed them and we rightly took our foot off the gas second half.
Sane was fantastic today, great goal and wonderful skill to control the ball from Eddie and take the piss as and pass it to Kev to set up Gabby.
Merlin was so fucking good and Fern just gets better.
Defensively we were excellent apart from the odd mistake but we looked solid overall.
Can you imagine any other team playing without their leading goalscorer and not miss him....
Loved the way the players went over to the fans to show appreciation..

Just read this on another site ; I see the wags are out in force
- Jesus scores from a nailed on cross. at Easter

You asked a question in order to get agreement with your opinion. You virtually admitted it in your reply to the other poster.

I stated my opinion, you are perfectly entitled to dissagree. That doesn't make it a stupid question. I ask again do you think he is as quick as our other creative midfielders. Perhaps I am expecting too much.

That first half was some of the best football we've played this season and that's saying something.

We all know his problems and worries, nearly 3 weeks without a game and the he turns up at

Everton. Best player on the pitch bye a country mile.
David Silva I mean.

Brilliant win, got the job done first half and saw it out comfortably second half. Very similar game to the Arsenal away game.

We were unplayable first half.

Why is it stupid question? Oo2d played sure but I'm just not a massive fan of him. For me he slows down every game he plays in. His speed of pass is just not on the same level as Merlin, KDB or even B Silva. But I accept he has come back from a bad injury and may improve.

You've answered your own question. If you think he slows the play down every time you see him but didn't have the benefit of watching today your question was informed by your own bias rather than anything suggested by the radio commentary. You're not the only one on here though with that view of him. It's not a view I agree with

No. I think he holds onto it a bit a times, but you was asking about him slowing us down TODAY.

Yes because he came on ! He comes on as sub alot when we are winning and i think he slows the game down. I appreciate we didnt need to chase the game at that point especially with Wednesday coming up. But he could choose to up his game and try and get a start. But i suspect he knows he wont with the other three ahead of him. Anyway all good here. I am over the moon with the result and our position and the fact that we are going to win the league against Mouriniho and his anti football next weekend. Cheers

First 45 mins was sublime and it won the game with Wednesday in mind.

It’s sensational stuff and utterly ruthless and professional and with every game we keep getting better.

This squad in a few years time under Pep will rewrite the books lol

It's a discussion forum. I asked the question because I was listening on the radio. But yes I don't think he's as as quick as the others. You clearly do. That's your opinion.

First half, football of the highest level. Passing, movement and clinical finishing.

Second half was conserving energy with Wednesday in mind. Another Spanish masterclass from Merlin, how many times have we said that this season ?

Jesus lead the line superbly tonight and deserves his place on Wednesday imo

GET IN!

Always hate going to Goodison park, but that was outstanding. Especially in the first half.

Running out of superlatives for David.

Listened to it on GMR. Honest question did Gundog slow the game down in the middle when he came on? For me he's just a tad too slow as a creative player for us.

Unfair criticism , game was over and more than likely he was playing to Pep's instructions to close the game down and not give Everton a sniff of a second goal and it worked superbly
