Everton (A) Post Match Thread

A strange performance. We began exuding confidence, so much so that we misplaced a few passes with over-elaborate play, gifting Everton a couple of dangerous turnovers. Gradually, we cut that out and the goals were scored at very good times. I thought that Rodri and Bernardo were magnificent and really stopped Everton from gaining any kind of worthwhile possession. Rodri won it time and time again and is developing a first-time release of the ball that stops anyone getting near him; great to see after he was caught out by a multiple press in a couple of games earlier in the season. Bernardo, Phil and Gabby's relentless press stopped quality passes coming out from Everton's backline. Well done Mahrez too. Kyle, for me, stands out now as being our most limited technical player. His physicality somewhat compensates but I thought we were less effective in the full-back areas today than with Cancelo on the right and Zin left. Overall, a really good win against a good team.

Second goal was the one for me, tremendous wing rotation orchestrated by Bernado.

This.

I rarely feel comfortable.

A poster wrote a post saying some Blues are entitled.

I have never, ever met an entitled fellow Blue.

Have met plenty of "The Sky is Falling In" Blues,i am one of them.

I always expect the unexpected.I think it is an age thing.Fans that have followed through thick, and thin, relegation etc.It is in our DNA
Ditto.

It feels like we break another record every time we wake up in the morning.
Here's another one to look out for
Manchester City haven’t trailed for a single minute in any of their last 16 Premier League games, since a 2-0 reverse at Tottenham.

The only team with a longer run of games without falling behind in Premier League history is Arsenal between December 1998 and May 1999 (19 in a row).

When we play the ball quickly there is not a team in the world that can live with us. Just have to try and stop the short spells like in the first half tonight where we play slowly. So many positives though and any team that has 17 wins on the bounce is a damn good one.

Can't help thinking Sergio has to bust a gut in training to get on the pitch, he's known for not being the most dedicated trainer - I just hope he gets on soon as we all know once he smells the grease paint he turns it on...

Whatever records we break they will be downplayed. See commentary example of "domestic treble a couple of years back" not "Historical.never been done before never been done since domestic treble".

Think this was a harder game than the result suggests. We weren’t at our best really, Everton made it messy and in the first half made it difficult. All that said, one or two players were superb. Thought Bernardo was excellent, Mahrez took his goal superbly, Rodri was quality again. So considering our players missing, foden was very quiet and sterling struggled, it’s a fantastic result. Well done boys.
