Everton (a) post-match thread

Dickhead Lawro leads with this gem in his predictions thread.....

Manchester City got away with one on Saturday at Goodison Park. I just don't understand how VAR could have taken a look at Rodri's handball and not awarded a penalty to Everton.

How about they knew the rules and you still don't, fucking prick.

Typical Riley soft arse Kunt when pressured in any way backs down!

We should do it with every mistake by var ask for an apology from the kunt whose under the thumb by the history clubs.

Breaking news on sly Mike Riley ( Remember that rag ref?)apparently rang Lampard and that old luvvie Kenwright on Monday evening to apologise saying they got it wrong. The sense of outrage; n the presenters voices oh my. Kick us out of the league, deduct us three points, award the title to those paragons of virtue and fair play Liverpool!

There there Everton do you feel better now? Here let uncle Mike dry your tears and suck on an Everton mint everything will be alright.

No, the fact the vast majority of the hall hit his arm and not his sleeve made it handball.

The VAR referee didn’t think so and pretty much everyone in the world of football, barring a minority on here, think he made a mistake.

We lose nothing by saying it was handball as it probably would have been offside anyway. It just seems bizarre to suggest it wasn’t blatant handball.
OK we get the message. We have enough with our enemies saying it without blues moaning.

Sorry bonzo, didn’t realise that being truthful equated to being an enemy.
l used Enemy as a convenient word to include the wide range of people and organisations who delight in having all sorts of digs at us. It did not include any Blues and specifically did not include or equate to you.moa at me l am quite
My view is that it probably was a penalty and we were lucky.
So if the enemy moans about it l just tell them it is about time VAR gave us something and laugh at them

Please re-read. I was saying there's nothing in the laws to justify what PGMOL said.
How you interpret the laws are dependent on IFAB, and IFAB publishes guidance that PGMOL are partly dependent on. I linked you to to the interpretation change that PGMOL are using in their VAR decision and subsequent reports.

Can you cite the bit in that link about "more in the green zone than the red zone" (or about a T-shirt)?

The only possible way you could argue that that phraseology is not very obviously emerging from this phrase/image -- with the exact phrase "red zone", and a picture with a "green zone" that clearly indicates a silhouette of a t shirt to illustrate where the bottom of the armpit is -- is if you'd got yourself caught in an internet forum argument which you are refusing to back down on.

Is that all the interpretation says? If it is, it's a piss-poor way to manage handball. A football is around nine inches in diameter. How do they define where someone is "struck" by the ball? Top of the ball, bottom of the ball, centre of the ball, any of the ball?

Absolutely hopeless.

That bit I agree with. I don't know if the refs got a more detailed presentation, but I actually doubt it. But it's so vague as to be next to useless.

Remember when Fellani handballed it on his penalty spot in 2013 when we lost there and we were awarded a free kick outside the area instead. So fuck them
