His floppy arms annoy the f#ck out of me every time he takes a goal kick.
But for comedy value his attempt to save Erling's header had me in stitches, so not all bad

Don't rate Pickford at all. If you only watched the World Cup you'd think he was one of the best goalkeepers in the world but his distribution is terrible, he doesn't really command his box, and he's so poor with his feet and positioning. I don't mean in terms of using his feet for kicking (although he is awful at that as well), I mean in terms of using his feet to make sure he doesn't have to dive as far to save shots.

Look at Gundogan's free-kick on Saturday - it's a lovely free-kick but he's hardly put it right in the corner. And yet Pickford's despairing dive still gets nowhere near it. Look at the goal again (below). It's because Pickford doesn't even bother to take a step to the right before diving to try and save it. He just leaps from a standing position. If he'd anticipated the flight of the ball earlier and taken two steps to his right he would have saved it.

The screenshot actually makes it look worse. He's not only behind the flight of the ball, he's also under it. Just atrocious goalkeeping on every level.

For comparison, look at a young Joe Hart and this save he makes against Tottenham. When the ball leaves Assou-Ekotto's boot he's already on the move, when it deflects off Wright-Phillips he's already taken two steps to his left, then while it's flying through the air he takes two more steps and touches it over. That's why Hart has a bunch of titles to his name and Pickford will finish his career with nothing.
