Let Sterling and Silva rip into them like they did against West Ham, Sterling running at pace at their defence will hopefully create plenty of opportunities.

I don't think it's fear or caution with blues of a certain vintage.
It's just become ingrained in us to expect the worst and anything else is a boost.
Even with the better players we now have.

i fear this could be the truth of it.

its clearly is the case they have stopped us playing and its shocking that the ref starts the game all nice and smiles and handshakes then does us over
only the west ham game last week in the fa cup that i didn't notice him he just let the game flow no cards nothing and that's how it should be. we are not a dirty team and play football and pass and move and keep the ball more than the other team so how can we have picked up 7 red cards and a hat full of yellows and a club fine if its not the refs

its been going on now for about 3 seasons but this season its war and its so easy to see the ref is the 12th man for the others. its like you dare not put a tackle in or any foul its a yellow but the other teams are right in our faces and getting away with everything. the chelsea game at home was the worst i have ever seen in football. the ref did not lose it he KNEW what he was doing and was clearly under orders and even the orders was coming over the ear radio not to send side show bob off that's was the last straw the players lost it and gived it out

There are extremes Ric and each are as bad as each other, but it appears to be the same old faces who need to pronounce their fears and not accept that we are capable of beating anyone one. I personally think it is a coping mechanism for some.

Its asymmetric risk. We will enjoy more good results than bad ones this season. Far more good performances than bad ones. But to win the title we cant afford more than 5 or 6 defeats and a similar number of draws. We need to win at least two thirds of our games to win the PL. And one bad result in a cup competition can render previous good wins meaningless. So the feelbad factor from a poor result greatly outweighs the feelgood factor from a win. And the fear of a bad result outweighs the expectation of a good result.

The biggest problem is the fact that Pep has not yet worked out his best defence and best system .there are to many swopping and chages and players are still unsure of there roles
Pep never has a best defence and system. He changes his tactics on a week by week basis to counter the opposition.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

It's going to be a tough game. Everton have good results against the big teams at home but we need the 3 points more than they do so I think the players are going to be right up for this one.
