Everton (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I think this is where sentiment gets the better of many of us. We tend to see the 'possible' glimpses of genius he might still bring vs the 'likely' increasingly rapid decline. He will be difficult to replace but every great must be replaced and recently we've managed to do so fairly well. I'm still mourning the loss of Peter Barnes and Gary Owen!

Ultimately if we are going to remain a top tier champions league contender status we need to be recruiting the very best of world talent on the rise or at their peak. Not on the decline. If we are lucky enough to have a Ronaldo type exception who is still delivering, then sure, make an exception, but I feel if we are being honest with ourselves, Kev isn't delivering often enough to qualify for that very rare exemption. We can visually see the loss of pace and fragility.

He will always be a City great. I'd rather let him go with some dignity.
You cannot stay still or else you go backwards and we have seen already in less than half a season how quickly that can be.

This team is unrecognizable to the one of two and three seasons ago even parts of last season.

We are afraid to attack teams now for fear of the counter attack when its inevitable they will and punish us anyway when we lose possession.

Loyalty has killed us albeit we have been poor to say the least in the transfer market in the past two seasons.

Too many are reading and believing the media who are relishing this. Once the fans stop supporting their own team, we are in trouble. Everton didn’t deserve a point today, despite all our problems with injuries and form. But mind games have a damaging effect and Everton worked on that.

Maybe not a turning point but absolutely nothing seems to be going for us at all.
Confidence is a huge factor. We have lost ours and other teams have increased theirs.
Every time one of our players is in possession they are taking a split second longer to decide. They are making decisions they wouldn't normally make. They are trying a little bit harder and end up over hitting a pass or overcompensating by making runs enthusiastic but unintelligent.
Those fine margins eventually tally up and the balance tips against us.

A year ago Everton's equaliser would have been water off a duck's back. Now it feels like we might drown under pressure. That's not just the team, it's the fans too.
We will break the cycle eventually but it's going to take all of us to do it.

Think the fans have every right to now boo and voice displeasure at this run. The football is atrocious at the moment.
Why do fans have a right to boo? Today I paid to watch a football match and I got what I paid for. Just because I paid my money does not mean I am entitled to see a win.
There was no lack of effort today. It was a lack of quality with the players being half a yard to slow physically and half a second too slow, mentally.
What exactly will booing the players achieve? How is that going to help us, going forward?

It's an open forum. Forums are for discussions. That's the beauty of an argument. There's are 2 sides. Just because fans are voicing their negative opinions that are based on facts that don't necessarily align with your views, doesn't mean they aren't City fans.

That's life in general. How shit would it be if everyone agreed on Everything!!
I'm not gonna argue with you for the sake of it. Happy new year.
