Everton (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

No, ban people that are clearly not City and only come on twisting the wum knife when struggling. Thousands of messages on here that I don't necessarily agree with, but if they're blues, I tend to respect them.
It's an open forum. Forums are for discussions. That's the beauty of an argument. There's are 2 sides. Just because fans are voicing their negative opinions that are based on facts that don't necessarily align with your views, doesn't mean they aren't City fans.

That's life in general. How shit would it be if everyone agreed on Everything!!

Another 3 points slipping away was pretty hard to take

But I thought we were a bit better than we have been recently. There was more of a threat with the two wingers

Absolutely nothing dropped for us and on another day we win that match comfortably
It was a bit better but with the bar set very low.

There were still too many wayward or overfit passes and wrong decisions all day long.

I don’t think it can be classed as a turning point in form but at least it wasn’t quite as shit as Villa.

The second half performances have been a concern though. There is a real drop off after 60 mins.

I hear you, but the kdb I saw at the Euros had good enough legs and can still do a job for us, remember he played 3 months with a hamstring tear at the end of 23/24 he needs to be managed better in terms of game time, didn't he look good against N'Forest?
I think this is where sentiment gets the better of many of us. We tend to see the 'possible' glimpses of genius he might still bring vs the 'likely' increasingly rapid decline. He will be difficult to replace but every great must be replaced and recently we've managed to do so fairly well. I'm still mourning the loss of Peter Barnes and Gary Owen!

Ultimately if we are going to remain a top tier champions league contender status we need to be recruiting the very best of world talent on the rise or at their peak. Not on the decline. If we are lucky enough to have a Ronaldo type exception who is still delivering, then sure, make an exception, but I feel if we are being honest with ourselves, Kev isn't delivering often enough to qualify for that very rare exemption. We can visually see the loss of pace and fragility.

He will always be a City great. I'd rather let him go with some dignity.

Scousers always like to give advice, often it's wrong. I'll trust Pep over a Scouse AA man
To be fair to him, he's aligned with the view of an ever growing number of Blues. I've thought the same about our change in attack to feed Erling for some time, but when Rodri got injured, the inverted FB's have made less & less sense ever since.

Rodri is the world's best CDM, but we've always struggled to make inverted FB's work without him. Think about his 3 game ban last season. That mini collapse is eerily similar to the extended one we're on now.

I wouldn't leave him unattended around my hub caps, but I couldn't disagree with the Scouser's assessment of City in truth.

We need a fully fit back four of Dias, Ake, Stones and Akanji. Ortega will be in goal because obviously Ederson is on a sulk. Walker is finished as a top class defender and Lewis isn't the answer. Gvardiol I have no idea what's happened to him but he's never been the greatest defender.

Midfield is then a problem as Gundo is finished and no Rodri. Kev and Foden are shadows of themselves and Bernie looks fucked. Surely a couple of younger legs could come in they couldn't do much worse?

Upfront Haaland is strolling about as if he couldn't give a fuck and missing chances he'd normally bury. Our two wingers just don't create or score enough and that's about it.

Now hopefully players getting and staying fit and regaining some form might get us back into a top four place and that's about the best we can hope for this season. Allowing so many of the squad to get old together has left us with a huge rebuilding job. We probably need another keeper, a left and right back, another center half who stays fit, a couple of midfield players and at least one decent mobile striker. Omitting a keeper that's six players minimum. They have to be top quality if we are to regain our place at the top. It's going to be tough.
Fully fit back four including Stones,Ake,Dias. Not in my lifetime

Maybe not a turning point but absolutely nothing seems to be going for us at all.
