There are stats out there that chart the teams that benefit the most and those the least. VAR is therefore operating a positive bias for some teams over others....can you guess which teams those are ? If you said Liverpool and Utd you’d be right.....quelle surprise.

At worst it’s cheating. At best it’s a process that is not working correctly or being used ‘beyond’ its capability.

I think it has flaws and doesnt work as it should i agree....i dont think its deliberate cheating however.

Weird seeing Ancellotti managing Everton - what is he thinking??? - maybe just getting settled in to the North West before he takes over at the rags.

Really please to see two youngsters getting good game time and looking comfortable - great stuff!

That was one of the worst Everton sides I have seen. Toothless. Miles off the pace in midfield. I thought Delph was OK and Mina was a threat at corners. I don't know how they are not in the relegation zone.

The scoreline flattered Everton , they were outclassed , they only scored becasue Bravo f&cked up otherwise it was a excellent defensive performance , and we won the game despite VAR trying to stitch us up again , Mahrez was tugged back by his arm for a defo penalty , and the Everton defender went through Foden to get the ball for another nailed on penalty , also the foul on Dinho at the corner flag was a definite red card , so just the three VAR decisions in this game that went against us , although the offside was tight for the Foden goal ,but correct.

Jesus could should have had 4 and played very well.

Definite red card. VAR is the main talking point of every game now. I actually dont celebrate goals anymore and wont be renewing next season.

Dominated throughout, the back 3 were great with another decent Garcia performance. The wing backs gave us good width and deliveries were quality. Jesus brilliant 2nd half. Overall flattered Everton.

Garcia was solid and stable. Gave great confidence to those in front of him.

I'm no conspiracy theorist, I'm watching us being fucked over in plain sight, I'm actually staggered a Blue can mount any form of defence for those officials on the pitch and sat reviewing the decisions, not just today but week in and week out ..... ?

I said today i thought the foul by Calvert Lewin was a red card....but those sort of decisions are going to ALWAYS be subjective regardless of technology....the offside was offside (Mahrez in thebuild up to the foden disallowed goal) - nothing subjective about it as it either is or isnt offside and in this case Mahrez was offside.

Just out of interest, which VAR decision are you disputing?

1. The city offside goal. If no var the lino would have flagged avoiding people celebrating and then making the crowd utterly flat and loosing all the atmosphere out of the stadium
2. The Mahrez offside/handball/penalty incident was a farce and no one had a clue what they were doing or what was going on
3. Only two mins added at end of first half. The var time alone was 5/6 mins
4. The Foden none penalty - blatant
5. Calvert Lewin red card incident
Shall I go on? It’s also not just about specific incidents. The officials don’t make decisions anymore leading to it being a false game. Eg offsides not being given in case it leads to a goal... a corner then is won which shouldn’t have etc etc etc

As for comparing to flat earthier, the person being contrary in every post is looking more like a ‘flat earther’ no matter how many people tell them what they see.

Of course, its easier to believe its cheating....if people were to accept that its human error/difference of opinion/interpritation of an incident then it makes it harder to complain/make excuses when something doesnt work out for us....just look at the pre match threads and there are so many menitons of it...its like people are making excuses before it happens .....protecting themselves from disappointment by giving themselves something to vent at....setting it up so to speak

No...they are making mistakes with some decisions.....nothing new there....even i thoguht Calvert Lewin could have been sent off for the foul on Ferna near the end but i can accept that he wasnt.....

Pep should listen to me more often.

Thought the formation change worked well, it’s clearly something that’s going to require a fair bit of work on the training pitch still to get anywhere near as smooth as Pep would want it but there’s some good signs there.

Gets more out of our fullbacks, thought mendy was superb throughout, and probably my motm, cancelo was disappointing in comparison but there’s potential.

Rodri looks far more comfortable, he can be in the right places more often and it negates his lack of pace as much as possible. I think his future lies at cb as he’s never going to be quick enough in midfield.

We see a significant improvement from mahrez in that position too and the striker is more involved in the game. The negatives are we’re not as imposing in the middle and the press is harder to do but until we get Sane back and Sterling gets his act together I’d like to see more of it.

Kdb can play it in numerous positions, Bernardo likewise, Sterling can slot in behind the striker or as the striker the only one I don’t see it suiting as much is Spanish Dave. As much as I want to see him play every minute possible whilst we still can, the sad fact is we have to prepare for life without him so taking the time now to utilise this otherwise pointless half a season to get it right is going to set us up strongly for next year.

Oh and another Honorable mention to Garcia, calm, assured and classy yet again. Needs to be a permanent fixture now.

Thought we had several standouts today - both wing backs, Foden, Garcia, Gundo, Jesus all great.

Honorable mention for Bravo who gets the years first ‘gormless twat’ award.

Thought Bravo had a good game apart from the shit kick which led to their goal.
Mendy and Cancello were very good as was young Garcia.
Foden looks very comfortable in the team..Fern and Rod very good..KDB and Gabby very impressive.. decent games from they who can't be mentioned..

Calvert Lewin in my opinion could have been sent off - but that is a subjective type decision

so out of those 4decisions I think it got 3 definitely correct - the onyl one i would question was the possible red for Calvert Lewin

So yes overall it worked

It has also worked for us in the lastcouple fo games (penalties, retaken penalties)

Ederson sent off for denial of a goal scoring opportunity. Calvert Lewin didn’t do that, although I thought it was a red in the ground and haven’t seen it back yet.

You’re a funny one.... you don’t actually understand the process, do you??

The whole point of VAR is to make it less subjective ffs, it fails to undermine initial decisions, from the Ref, on a consistent basis, thus is ignoring the principle idea
