Everton (H) - Post-Match Thread

When you watch him in the youth team he loves running with the ball dribbling past players! In this pep team he has to learn when to run when to pass and move receive the ball! Pep will teach him all this.
A bit like Messi ;-)

There were quite a few cunts booing the taking of the knee today, sounded like it was coming from the CB stand? Why would people do that? Does anyone on here do it or sit next to anyone that does?

Mcatee is nowhere near Palmer regarding his role in the team, he tries too many fancy stuff for pep to trust him in the teams. he needs to learn to play for the team before he becomes a mainstay.
Okay tin hat well and truly on. Personally I think Palmer is a good player nothing more. Nowhere near the standards of Foden. Thought he wasn’t great today but played in a different position. You need all kinds of different type of players in a team. Some stand out more, some are just as effective but do not stand out as much. Again purely personal, but I like exciting players that get bums off seats. I used to love the clatter of seats when Leroy got the ball as everyone got up to see him dancing past defenders. Whilst we have some great players, Mcatee is a young and exciting type of player. Just lit the game up when he came on. Such an exciting talent and we would be crazy not to get this guy on the bench and tied to a new contract. I would much prefer to see Mcatee trying his ‘fancy stuff‘ and being entertained than a slow pedestrian buildup. We are a very good side and a different type of side than previous seasons, but no where near as exciting as previous sides. That first half was a tough watch opposition aside. Mcatee did more to worry the Everton defence in a five minutes cameo, than Mahrez in all his minutes on the pitch. This lad should be in the bench now every game, and long live his ‘fancy stuff‘. As the Jam said ‘It’s Entertainment’.

If we can mug off a Spanish club for decent money in the summer then it’s a no brainer.

He’s slow and just so easy to beat, also rash dives in and flailing boots at balls when panicking. He was dreadful in the second half, hence why Pep hooked him.
Laporte's form is of concern and he definitely is not the player he was before his injury. He is far too easily beaten and looks vulnerable

I don't read it like that (and didn't hear it like that) - if anything it was a compliment to our young stars coming through - the suggestion that they each display some David Silva dna could not be more complimentary...
Horses for courses. I was at the game so thankfully didn't have to endure Ole's mate and his biased mutterings.
