As a londoner I ask :

The Manc-Scouse rivalry, where did it start? It's not just a football thing is it? Or is it?

Of course I know there is a Liverpool-Man Utd hatred, but wasn't sure if there was/is an Everton-City one. How do City fans feel about Liverpool (the club)? The enemy of my enemy is my friend?

Apologies for all the questions...

Just as bad as the rags.

NEVER

Jonny Evans will be world class in a couple of years...you could see it in his performance today, and in midweek.

LOL.

He's MILES better than Neds I'll have you all know...

That's how I see it. No beef with Liverpool at all, but don't like Everton which is partly down to moyes and how much of a **** he's been this season

That Arteta would be great in our midfield, he knows the premier league already, and he is so comfortable on the ball, at always looks to produce something positive.

Yes, but can he pass the ball sideways and backwards?

Great comment from Dion Dublin there about the Rooney free kick lol...

"That would have been a goal if it had gone in..."

They're equal imo, young and loved by the fans, have the club deep at heart, but are both average and probably won't make it, as for Rodwell, just bang in a big bid for him, one they can't refuse.

It all started in the 1800s when the Mancunians used to accuse Liverpudlians of stealing ships cargo that came from abroad, docked at Liverpool and was due for transportation up to the Manchester Ship Canal. That was where the origins of the "thieving Scouser" reputation came from.

In all honesty, Manchester is actually significantly worse than Liverpool for crime.

The footballing rivalry built up in the 50s due to the intense dislike of the two populations of each other. United's main anti-Scouse rivalry was with Everton, as was ours, as Everton were the bigger of the two clubs at the time.

The Liverpool-United hatred only really kicked in in the 1970s when Liverpool were winning everything yet United still commanded the press coverage. For the first time in the game, there were two clubs much bigger than the rest in terms of the national coverage and the hatred was born.

There was always a mini hatred between City and Scouse teams but Liverpool have largely been tolerated because of their mutual hatred of the rags.

The City-Everton thing has been going on with me for years because I know lots of Everton fans and they are twats to a man, always sniping, always having a pop. For the majority though, it's only kicked off this year over the Lescott affair. They are bitter and jealous about our money and we have just formed a hatred of Moyes.

I wanted United to win today for all sorts of reasons.
