Everton post-match thread

For once I`m on your side Wilko.

I'm genuinely sorry to welcome you to the dark side, Oakie.

League's there for the taking but you don't need to be Mystic Meg to see how it's going to pan out. And it feels like watching a car crash in sow motion. Everyone just wants it over and done with.

I can't work that out either. We don't seem to have players that crave repeat success for some reason. It's like doing it once or twice is good enough for them. Our collective motivation and desire seems to drop alarmingly once we've achieved something. Arsenal will win the league this year and it's a fucking joke. They are just an average team, but the contenders have imploded. Chelsea will be back next year. We're not capitalising on a terrible premier league.

I think that's the case and it takes a special individual at the helm along with the right mix of talent but above all that desire to win at all costs in a group which this lot doesn't have to gain premierships year in year out.

Individually they don't have to be the world's best either although having a player who not only has great skill and talent and thrives on winning certainly helps.

Suarez is the type of player who you know just hates losing and almost single handedly got a side that shouldn't have even finished top 6 a premiership.

Its highly likely we will win out first three premiership's with three different managers which says a lot about our current crop.

In saying all that no doubt MP is underachieving and has been for sometime now and the players he has had for all that period are tappering off and the newer addition's either are not suitable to premiership or still finding their feet.

I suspect a better manager would get us better organised than we have been for the vast majority of this season especially when we don't have the ball but again our players should be self motivated enough to do much better than they are.

The last we really played well over a 90 minute period was in Spain.Don`t know whats gone wrong and why ? The midfield is my biggest worry at the moment.I know the central pairing leaves a lot to be desired but if the midfield were ALL doing their job to their full capabilities, then the defence wouldn`t be put under so much pressure.
The dark side is descending on me mate.

I think one of our biggest problems is Yaya. Christ almighty, he was awful from minute one tonight. And has been for vast swathes of the season.

I also think Silva and De Bruyne need to look at themselves defensively. More so Kev. Every single 50/50 I've seen De Bruyne attempt has been absolutely pathetic, he dangles his leg in the vague direction of the ball while looking terrified.

On the bright side I though Delph looked good when he drifted closer to Ferna in the first half tonight.

I agree but it baffles me. The title is there for the taking of the players put in shifts. Don't they want trophies? Especially the ones who are coming to the end of their careers with us/full stop? Sickens me.

Come on lads, it's way too much to speculate Pep was a reason for City players' missing desire. Why should they have come back at Watford? I am sure whatever will happen in summer - and nobody really knows - is far away from now and the players of course are full of desire for titles.

I am disappointed and puzzled like anyone else but some theories on here don't make much sense. Cool down a bit.

It's amazing. In the Seville match, Dinho played in a more advanced roll, getting up to support the attack when necessary. It worked really well. I don't think we've done it since.

For me that is where Dinho is at his best in that advanced role.Unfortunately not for the first time,he is doing the work of two men.If we can see this, why can`t our management ?

It's baffling. I keep telling myself it's best left to the professionals who get paid good money for a reason. But when we hit on something that works it's like we can't wait to change it, until it gets to the point that the players look like they don't know what's expected of them.

We have been utter shite to watch for a good number of games already this season I even think we were lucky against Watford. Just not good enough, Not a chance we're gonna win the league playing this way.
