Then lets do it in a tournament that matters... the FA Cup.
Perhaps the squad and the manager really don't care about this cup that's worth... 100k pounds and is the third tier competition in the nation?
-they have to say they care because of the media etc...but let's be honest with ourselves... do we as fans even care about this?
the concern is all because this quality keeps showing as a trend. this individual game though...who cares? i don't

I could have written that myself. The owners set targets at the start of each season and I am sure they are not being met.The performance was shit, and it's on the back of a lot of shit performances. Why the fuck anyone is comparing us to bygone shite eras right now is beyond me. Yes, we were shit then...but we didn't have the squad we have now. If you can't see that, then you're in denial. We're limping along right now, punching well below our weight. Maybe things will turn around and we'll have a good season, but there are no signs of that. The football is stale and predictable. Doesn't mean I'm not happier than when we were shit, but we should have higher expectations. Pretty sure our owner does.
I go to home matches expecting the opposition to score, not by their good play but by our ineptitude.
I also know that we will piss about passing the ball back and forth across midfield and the edge of the oppositions area without anyone (other than Sergio) even contemplating a shot.
The opposition lose the ball in our half, do we break forward at pace - no it has been coached out of the squad, let the opposition regroup before we go forward.
Even given up watching our away games on TV because I get no pleasure from seeing the same dross served up each match. Had a survey from the Club a few weeks back and when it said "are you satisfied with the standard of football this season?" I responded with a definite no.
Played like Kings for the first twenty minutes, then like Court Jesters for the final seventy. Lily livered performances all over the pitch, Toure's legs have gone and De Bruyne's lack of fight and desire to track back particularly frustrating

Was going to post the same, a typical performance from him makes the wrong decision to often and gives the ball away not worth anywhere near what is quoted hence why he is still with NevertonBarkley was fucking awful in the 1st half giving the ball away all over the pitch. Flashed some danger in the 2nd but he was poor overall I thought

Credit to Everton they thoroughly deserved to win. They wanted it more, worked harder and had far more chances. If wasn't for some poor finishing we could've been out of sight. Best player on the pitch was Barkley who looks a cracking player at the moment. As for us yet again another poor performance in fact I'm beginning to think this is as good as it gets which is shocking considering the money spent.
How many times are we saying this recently, seems practically every team we face work harder and want it more. Even Arsenal FFS. I like Pelle but the lack of workrate and desire is the reason my faith in him is now lost. It is the managers job to instil this in the players, evidentally not happening.

First clear view off that and Can't believe that wasn't given was at the game so didn't realise how blatant it was fucking joke!
Not to mention that the ref and the liner were both looking right at it with unimpeded views.
I make that 8 consecutive penalty shouts at away grounds that haven't been given. Four at Arsenal (some better than others), two at Leicester, one each at Watford and Everton. I didn't start counting till Arsenal.
I'm guessing we will next get a penalty away from home when we are already leading 3-0. So no time soon :)

Apart from the obvious faults, the centre halves and yaya, kdb has offered nil defensively all season, his closing down is piss poor he throws a leg out and makes himself easy to run past, he never picks up a second ball and I would go so far as to say he doesn't tackle full stop.

For me it's time to get back to wingers, Navas and Sterling on the wings, Aguero with silva behind, Fernandinho holding with KDB in front of him. Speed our game up and terrify teams again, Yaya is gone now, his legs and attitude are what's wrong, if he can't be arsed how as a captain is that to inspire the rest of the team.

I simply don't see these issues that others seem to be seeing. If you had told me at the start of the season that we would be in the semi's of the capital one cup, topped our champs league group, and be 3 points off top, I would have snapped your hand off. If this is a bad season of football that you can't bear to watch (as some on here have been saying) all I can say is you simply can't like the game of football.
No team has a God given right to win a game and you have to respect the fact that a lot of teams below us are progressing, getting better and closing the gap on ALL the top teams. I would suggest the new influx of TV money and the fact that for 3 or so years we were hindered in the transfer market by FFP are the reason for that.
I was mainly disappointed that we didn't get the draw but it was one delicious ball from Barry and yes we gave him too much time to find the cross but overall 2.1 gives us a good chance of getting to the final and confident we can beat Everton at the Etihad as we can most teams.

Yaya was a passenger, as so often. Worse still, I don't think I've ever seen him give the ball away as much.
I'll look forward to Pellers memoirs, when he can explain the reasons behind his final substitution - their full back goes off: they go down to 10 men for the last 5 mins: we take off a forward and bring on a holding midfielder (who generally has been shit, and made no obvious contribution, given that Everton kept possession beautifully, seeing the game out - thanks in no small part to the excellent Gareth Barry - man of the match.)
I'm not one to get on the back of our manager but that Fernando sub was bizarre. If anything, Everton were the ones going into lockdown mode with Coleman going off and we should've been still looking to grab an equaliser. It would've made miles more sense if he'd brought him on straight after our equaliser.

This aspect of offside can only be judged with any accuracy after the incident. The lino is totally at the wrong angle for seeing whether the goalkeepers view is impeded and it depends on where the ref is. He might not have a decent view. Video tech would sort it immediately. Before the game restarts the fourth official should have a quick shufty and then see if the GK does not have a clear view. Lucky Luke is clearly in an offside position but the lino won't flag that, and the Law on offside states clearly that a player in an offside position, gaining an advantage (and blocking the goalkeepers view is a stated advantage) should be given offside. The whole business of offside these days is nothing more than a lottery. These decisions are given or not given, reversed the week after in a different match, and it's just not good enough in this day and age. Football governance and administration live in the dark ages by not embracing what other sports have developed, and which sports have clearly delivered results that reflect what happened on the pitch.
We aren't disappointed with our position, we are disappointed with what we are seeing. It doesn't matter how many competitions we are still in. The performance the team in general and more than a few players in particular has been substandard. This isn't 'entitlement' or any other dismissive term. It's observation.

I wouldn't say that the characteristic is that the players are lazy - I think that they realise how good individual players are and how they can turn a game like the Watford game, but it is a team game and we don't play like a team. There is tremendous spirit in the dressing room, witness the joy from every player when someone scores, but we do not operate as a unit. The group seem to be waiting for the moment of magic, whether it be from Aguero, De Bruyne, Sterling or Yaya. A performance like EFC put in last night is gonna outdo the magicians when it's a tight game and we have the clueless in charge of the whistle.

When you hear stories that Yaya plays every week because Pellegrini doesnt trust any of the others to control the game, I understand it. It does bring into question our transfer policy when every summer we continue to buy average midfielders none of which are capable of passing and controlling a game to even 20% of Yayas standard. However, when Yaya "passes" like he did last night then he is of no use whatsoever. For me, that was the worst game I have seen from him in a City shirt.
