Everton - Post match thread.

Sterling has been miles better than Jesus on every occasion so far & looked more likely to score as well as causing more danger from open play.

Jesus will come back, he is a potential genius, but he is currently the worst of our attacking players & doesn't deserve to be starting. If he does start, it should be as an alternative to Ageuro imo, the two together are ok, but not as good as any of the alternatives.

Spot on

Bent official robs us again, so blatant and open now.

Brilliant fightback though. We made them look a man down and deserved the winner.

Poor finishing highlights our need for a plan B to Aguero. Sanchez is the best option in every department.

Shameful comments on the match thread. As usual.
If it wasn't for the bent FFP Sanchez would have been our player for years anyway

People are so reactive to results. Watch the game again, analysis both teams actual performance and I'm sure a lot of people will be a lot calmer on here. We are clearly still getting up to speed and yet to fully click. But those insinuating united will carve out some sort of big gap is fucking ridiculous.

Think about this. united have played two of the worst sides in the league and they are a couple of games ahead of us in terms of match prep and fitness. Let's see where we are at come February when the games come thick and fast.

We were top of the league after 5 games last season and finished 3rd in case people forgot. And we are only TWO games in.
I agree with most of what you said but why are the Rags better prepared for the season than City? Surely that's just bad planning by City

And the shape was exposing Sane repeatedly. He even had to swap Kompany and Otamendi around to counteract the fact that Everton were simply pumping the ball up into Calvert Lewin in the channels that Sane was leaving wide open - due to the fact he was utterly useless as a LWB.

Pep got it wrong simple as.
Walker did not get forward much either. 1st half frustrating but just as we were starting to play, they scored. At least we got a point out of it in difficult circumstances

Good salient points my friend, bit strange though that teams only need 1 chance against us and we need a constant flurry to get 1. Something is going wrong somewhere and when we see us hitting the post as often as we do, something needs doing
Yep, I think the difference is that most of the time we're trying to thread a needle through a tightly packed defence. The majority of goals we concede are quite the opposite, goals scored on the break or laid off to a loose player in the box, simply because we're set up in such a way that our opponents will rarely have to score through a packed defence. It's the nature of how we play (high risk/high reward) and for that reason it's absolutely essential that we ensure our finishing is clinical.

I am not sure that we had that many clear cut chances

One were Aguero failed to take his shot
One where silva hit the post
One where Danilo flashed the ball across the goal, palmed away by Keeper
One where Sterling blazed it over when it was easier to score

Score 1-2 of those and it's a different game

I muted the TV as soon has I heard head rag Martin Tylers voice, I'm sure his celebration when rooney scored would have been enough to make me vomit.
