Can we please stop with the Everton love-in and get back to irrational hatred for all things scouse. Let’s not forget how much they fucking hated us under Moyes and celebrated like they’d won the world fucking cup when Gibson scored to beat us in 2012. And thought putting coach windows in was the duty of every scouser when we ventured to Goodson. My enemy’s enemy is my fiend? Fuck that. Fuck them.
You’re talking about things that happened a decade and more ago.

Times change and people move on. I hated Gollum for his pathetic attacks on City, but he no longer has any connection to Everton.

Since then, EFC supporters have been right behind us in our battles with their horrible neighbours - remember them wanting City to win at Goodison during the run-in in 2014? - so why shouldn’t we return the favour?

Wanted us to win at goodison 2014? Horse shit. I wax there. They went berserk when Barkley scored and were desperate to equalise . Don’t rewrite history to suit today’s narrative

it's been recommended for approval by the council. possibly agreed by a planning committee at end of month, along with the legacy proposals for goodison. all being well the hope is for it to be completed in time for the 24/25 season.
Do you think 52k lacks a little ambition? Think it looks mint but don’t you reckon they could have gone to 60k?

Probably same as COMS with scope for extension worked in.
Seems overly cautious to me, given the inherent cost and disruption contained within expanding a stadium.

This modern and unhealthy obsession with filling a stadium every week, caused principally by social media, is a blight on the game caused by people with micro-penises who rarely go to games themselves. Sad cunts.

It's surely better to have a 60k stadium that's 80% full half the time and 100% full the rest, than a 52k stadium that's full every week.

It's akin to not building an extension on a restaurant that's full every weekend because you're worried that it will be half empty on a Monday and Tuesday night.

Oh I agree, I've always said if you're selling out every game you need a bigger stadium.
I'm sure Everton have done the numbers though.

Restaurants near me are empty every day of the week.

I would think the capacity is based on current attendances plus a little extra for away fans and new stadium let's visit factor. Personally I think we should have upgraded Goodison when we did the Park End. That option has now gone and pretty soon Goodison will struggle to pass safety standards. It will probably overspend as most new stadiums do so long way still to go.
Maybe when it eventually opens our neighbours can provide a fitting firework display, no doubt they will organise a petition of some kind to ensure it never happens.

Goodison Park can't be expanded cos it's smack bang in the middle of a residential area. If Bramley Moore means not having to sit in a shed, which the Lower Bullens basically is, that's a plus. I will miss Goodison though. It's a shithole, but it's OUR shithole.
