Everton Thread - 2022/23

Saturday's game against Arsenal will be fascinating. I expect Dyche to play a very defensive game as a draw would be a great result for Everton - they only have one point from the last five games.

I think Arsenal may have too much for them but it is certainly not a game I would want to be facing if City were the first team to visit Goodison after Dyche has been given the job.

I honestly think the situation at Everton was worse than thought, as proved by lack of transfer activity. Any money from the sale of Gordon has possibly been used to pay off Lampard etc and take on Dyche etc. There will be a section of fans who will protest, especially if the board turn up at the stadium - which they have every right to do sadly. In not attending games what message would that give to a new manager.
As a supporter you support the club and that's all that matters. My gut feeling is this is the season we go down, as you can't keep riding your luck as we have. People will say we're deluded and as a fanbase we should lower our expectations, possibly an element of truth in that. But as a club this week has been as bad as any re positivity and I remember the Mike Walker years !
Maybe sacking Lampard wasn't financially possible until you definitely had an definite offer for Gordon? Explains why Lampard was around so long. Dyche had to be the new manager because he is probably the only one with recent Premier League experience who would do the job with no budget.

Yep 15 points from 20 games, so 18 left 6 wins, 6 draws, 6 losses gets you to 39, so could probably do with some bounce soonish during Feb, hopefully on Sat.
I can see Dyche reducing the defeats but not increasing the wins. More draws might not generate enough points.
But there are another six clubs in a similar situation.

The fact that they want all the Gordon money upfront says a lot about the dire situation It’s well known that Moshri is Usmanov’s puppet and his funds are somewhat locked by the Ukraine invasion
It figures. Usmanov was sanctioned, so the plug must have been pulled on our funding.

I’m sure you do but I just can’t bring myself to want Spurs to beat you
Fair play but every blue and his dog will be rooting for Everton to get at least a draw. We are playing catch up and hope you drop as many points as possible. And so far you're still riding the crest of the wave and TOTL. Wouldn't be surprised if you win the league because we've not been as good this season as recent years.
