No idea mate just know I won’t build or develop there again as it is rife with drugs and protection gangs and theft. On one job I was in we bought 240 kitchens for a 180 apartment scheme! Know that Ray O’Rourke was meeting Everton to say enough is enough on the payment front. They can’t get funding as real owners money has all been frozen. Genuinely touch and go if it gets finished.
Even in its current half built state it’s still a big improvement on Goodison

And we do give a hell of a lot back. We have Everton in the Community. It's not like Liverpool are the only team who put money back into the city.

i hope to fuck Kenwright sells up and we get a decent owner because at the rate things are going, Bramley Moore will be a pipe dream.

Was it Kirkby by any chance? That's one part of Liverpool I would not feel safe walking through alone, pun not intended. It's pretty grim.

I hope the Qatari bloke thinks why would I buy the Rags & build a ground, spend a billion on a new squad on top of 6 billion when the answers up the road.

Good luck

Bootle can be a little dodgy. I have a mate, Evertonian I know from the ships who lived up there, Tony, in Litherland. We went to a pub, the Dominion one afternoon, strippers the lot. We used to sign on at the shipping federation in Mann Island. Get our pool money and have a session. A few after time places back then, the Yankee Clipper I remember. Happy days.

Everton and Anfield are two of the most impoverished boroughs in Liverpool. In fact, nearly all of the north end of Liverpool, from Bootle through Vauxhall, Kirkdale and all the way to Kensington is largely impoverished, lacking investment, and does suffer from what you describe, on a large scale. The development of the new stadium, and the area around the Titanic Hotel and the Tobacco warehouse, takes the city centre developments into the north of the city, and will, likely, be plagued with those issues. The development of this stadium could make a genuine difference and I hope that Everton's issues are short-lived and fully resolvable.

I remember visiting Palermo and speaking to a bar owner. He described how investment in the city was pretty close to zero, and had been for decades, because there was no profit in development - the protection money demanded by mafia simply ate into the desire to develop, and Palermo remains a city MUCH in need of it.

I bumped into a Blue mate who now lives in Dipperville a couple of weeks ago whilst getting a takeaway. I had a couple of mates with me after we’d played golf who didn’t know him and we got talking whilst waiting for our nosebag.

My pal said to the Dipper based Blue “you’ve got a bit of the scouse accent, do you live in the Centre?”

His reply was:

“not really, I live in a little Fishing Village on the outskirts of town, Toxteth”

My mate pissed himself laughing, the other didn’t have a clue, he’s a rag though so irony and wit is lost on him.

I work all over Liverpool and have to say the area around Goodson is an utter shithole. Crackheads all over the gaff. As moody as any part of Manchester I can think of.
Walton is an horrible area, not to be confused with the village of the same name however. Have had some bad fights especially after Derby games in that area. It will deteriorate even further if and when everton move. I was in Lisbon watching Everton few years back and my mate commented on Lisbon being a shithole !! He actually lived just off Breck Road ironically
