Not so sure now that Dyche was the correct choice. It comes across as a bit of a last attempt to salvage their season, avoid the drop at any cost.
And Dyche would be well aware of that, so he couldn't really plan for the future, simply because he may not have a future at the club.
A bit of foresight and a bit of common sense might have served them better. Accept the inevitable and bring in a manager the fans would be happy with (you can't tell me Everton fans are happy with a pub-team manager in charge?). Someone with the club's best interests at heart. Obviously that 'someone' has got to be found, and I would have thought the club has had the feelers out for a long time, so it shouldn't be too long until a good, decent replacement can be found.
I've no argument with Everton (they hate the dippers, that makes them okay with me). They went a bit OTT with the Lescott saga but no fans would have been happy if an important part of their squad buggers off to sunnier climes.
They'll go down, that's almost for certain: but they'll be back with their new, shiny stadium, and with a few bob in the bank they'll have a rosy future.
