Everton Thread - 2023/24

I read the other week, no delay just an urban myth that it would be ready for the start of the 24/25 season. What's the odds that the next news is the contractor has downed tools?
Is that Scouse double speak for gangsters put up the price of their backhanders?

Still desperately short of a forward or two. Don’t seem to have any money left to bring anyone into the squad and god knows why Kenwright is still in a job. Got away with it last year but are heading into 23/24 weaker. Complete shambles on the face of it.

Ashley Young has agreed to join Everton
This is one of the most absurd things I have ever heard in terms of transfers. Young was over the hill six years ago. He is not even a Championship level player these days. Everton have totally lost the plot.

Remember the days of Fowler, McPointalot, even the George Weah’s of this world. That’s where Everton are at.

I said it when he kept them up, they should have got rid of Dyche. A club the size of Everton deserves much better than this footballing dinosaur, signing Ashley Young just about sums him up. He’s going to turn them into Burnley and take them down this season.

You're only as young as your name is.

I hope they stay up.

Fulham, Villa, Wolves and SheffUtd are their first 4 games. If they got 6+ points from that it'd be a great start. And a good start might give them the confidence to fight.

Defeats against Fulham and Villa. Possibly a draw against Wolves, and no more than a draw or defeat to the Blades.

Two-four points, IMHO.
