Everton Thread | 2024/25

They've announced this ahead of the last game in an effort to stop everybody quite literally tearing pieces of the stadium off for keepsakes.

Won't be economically viable and sustainable long term, they'll be attracting a 10th of the capacity max for most games, they'll get a year whilst they plan what to do long term.

You can buy your seat. Plus, fan groups have made it clear nobody should be doing that. Probably someone will, but not everyone.

Myself, I want a piece of the pitch, but I shall behave.

Too big for the ladies game for sure, last game at Goodison for the mens team followed by a year of chin rubbing before they sell the land.

There isn't a club that has 2 stadiums on the go of that size, like you said if they did want to keep it open they are going to have to farm it out to interests other than football.

Absolutely woeful name for the stadium. We will be sticking with Bramley Moore Dock I think! Meant to be worth around £10m a season, claimed as one of the largest in Europe and money talks these days unfortunately.

Fuck me. Couldn't they just call it the HD stadium or something to soften it. Thats a disgrace to name such a beautiful stadium

From their LinkedIn page:

Today we are incredibly proud to announce our partnership with Everton Football Club, as we become the official naming rights partner for the Club’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock – now Hill Dickinson Stadium.

This is a truly transformational partnership that goes beyond the naming rights. It represents two Liverpool institutions united by a global outlook, a fascinating shared heritage, and a deep commitment to the city of Liverpool, with more to come around partnership community activations in the coming months.

Everton was formed by the Trustees of St Domingo’s church, one of whom was Will Cuff, the founder of Cuff Roberts, a Liverpool law firm. The former Liverpool office of Cuff Roberts was eventually acquired by Hill Dickinson in 2010, and several former Cuff Roberts partners and employees remain with us today. Everton and Hill Dickinson have a shared history, and now a shared future.

This partnership also provides the perfect opportunity to share a preview of our new brand. It represents a journey we have been on for many months, with more to be unveiled as the year unfolds.

In the words of Craig Scott, “This partnership is about legacy, ambition, and the power of two globally recognised organisations coming together to make a difference.”

Interesting history. Still a terrible name for a stadoum

Hill Dickinson's origins can be traced back to 1810, with the establishment of a Liverpool legal practice.

It established itself as a leading maritime law office, and represented the White Star Line in connection with the sinking of the Titanic and Cunard Line in respect of the sinking of RMS Lusitania

In 1927 Edith Berthen joined the firm as one of the first women in England and Wales to qualify as a solicitor.

In 1931 one of the firm's solicitors, Hector Munro, represented William Herbert Wallace in connection with his trial and subsequent appeal against his conviction for the murder of his wife Julia in their home in Wolverton Street in Liverpool's Anfield district. His conviction was later overturned by the Court of Criminal Appeal, the first instance in British legal history where an appeal had been allowed after re-examination of evidence.
