Sorry if already posted, not seen it and been on here pretty much all the time for the past few days!

Nothing concrete but Phil McNulty is with the England squad, article on Barry but mentions:

"and the word here is that Everton will soon be tested by Manchester City's financial muscle in an attempt to allow Joleon Lescott to hear the siren call of the Eastlands chequebook".

Manchester City Football Club have been linked with Joleon Lescott.

Since moving to Everton from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a bargain £5million in the summer of 2006, the defender has established himself as one of the best in the Premier League.

Although there would be little chance of David Moyes considering selling the player, reports in the Daily Mail suggest Mark Hughes is set to test the resolve of the Scot.

Lescott has never once indicated that he would think about a move away from Goodison Park, and it would take City a fee as much as £15million to even tempt the Toffees.

They haven't got the cash to tempt Everton and they always seem to look abroad first anyway.

We seem to be looking home first and abroad for what can't be got at home... A striker for instance! I'm very happy to go for English/British first.

Also he fits the bill of a left-sided CB/LB perfectly so we need him more than anyone else too!

Actually Arsenal want to buy him, same with Chelsea. Wenger even admitted it - so get your facts right.

Lescott is absolutely brilliant, i dont know why you are being rumoured with him and not Jagielka though...Jagielka is better defensively.

Anyway he is a key player, and no matter what he is worth, he won't be leaving us for anything less than about £16 million imo...

But trust me, if you do get him, he's great.

I know it doesn't mean anything, but Lescott and SWP looked pretty 'pally' at the England training camp yesterday... maybe Shaun's having a word!
