PEP: We are almost there, we are in an ideal situation but it isn’t done. Especially in this league... Goodison Park is a good ground and of course the Derby will be very very difficult and we all know how good Spurs are at Wembley so it is not done.

When was the last time he mentioned how much united had spent?
Given his next couple of sentences were.
“In all fairness, the money has been well spent. It's a lot of money on quality players over a short period there. Those players have brought so much more to the team overall.

"The average age has been reduced, certainly the confidence has grown they believe every game they walk out on they're not going to get beat.”

He couldn’t have said any of that about Utd!

Context always helps, it’s reasonably fair but still comes across as bitter. It’s not as if Everton have been shopping at Poundland for players...

If he’s asked, the day before his team plays city, why they’ve been so dominant and he says that the coach is better than him, the players are better than his and he doesn’t think they’ve got a huge chance, he gets slaughtered. The reason they always mention the money is that they perceive it as a ready made excuse. “It’s not my fault if we get beat, it’s the money!”

Everton will make a late decision on the fitness of midfielder Idrissa Gueye, who is nursing a thigh injury.

The Toffees remain without centre-back Ashley Williams, who completes a three-game suspension.

Manchester City will be without defender John Stones, who suffered concussion whilst on international duty with England.

Striker Sergio Aguero, who hasn't featured for nearly four weeks with a knee problem, may return.

David Silva missed Spain's win against Argentina for personal reasons but is expected to start Saturday's game.

Indeed I've been looking for Fat Sams declaration that money is the reason he gets bummed by United nearly every time his teams turn out against them. Strangely I can't find any links anywhere. Anyone any ideas?
