Everton Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Well today's match isn't exactly going on Silva's youtube highlight reel by any stretch, but the people here who are slagging him have just gone off the chain a bit. FFS everyone has an off day now and again.

But team-wide this was a dreadful performance. I'm just torqued off at the avoidable mistakes (i.e. play 3 at the back, Kolarov in the XI at that spot, etc.)

Bob's got lots of silverware. Here and elsewhere. I can't turn against him at the first reverse like a lot of people did but he lost some points with me today. No doubt.
I don't see what's wrong with playing 2 at the back against Everton. They usually play one up front and 5 in midfield. They are not known for playing with width. We didn't lose the game because of the 3 at the back.

WAYYYYYYY UNLUCKY MANCS

Nah, I'll leave the gloating out. Been told a lot of you were badmouthing us so I thought I'd check it out.

I think it's sad that you're trying to mock us for "treating the game like a cup final". We played terribly against Wigan and this was the entire club bouncing back. We had to win to stay in the race for Europe, you are the current champions of the BPL and finally, he fixture between us is always heated. That's why the atmosphere was so intimidating to you.

Furthermore, the referee was bad for both teams (some of you have realised that but a lot haven't). Fellaini's handball was a penalty; I agree. However, we did have a goal wrongly disallowed, a good penalty claim denied and Pienaar softly sent off. You had chances to win regardless of the referee and you didn't take them.

I enjoyed the win against you guys (as we usually do) and look forward to more heated fixtures, preferably with a competent officiating team.

Everton certainly weren't great , but right from the start they showed a desire to battle and get back on track after the Wigan loss last week ......

we , on the other hand , didn't have a clue from start to finish , were second to most balls , had no direction to our play , lacked finishing abilty , and got exactly what we deserved .....

fuck all !

i essentially paid £55 including travel to add another ticket to my memorabilia collection.

what a waste of fucking time.

dzeko, kolarov, barry want to take a long hard look at themselves because the rest were poor but those three were shocking.

Did you really think we'd get sommat away to Everton in their cup final ??

Time's up for Barry I am afraid. Done really well for us in the past but he has to be replaced. Never ever start him and Garcia in the same game.

that is a performance that's get a manager the sack

devoid of anything

why did we go 3 at the back? beyond me?

Agreed - But as to the issue of 3 at the back I'm really more coming from the standpoint of the club just mightily struggling when doing so up to now, so why start? For some reason these particular players don't seem to take well to this. I actually agree with Bob when he was frustrated last fall at supposed professionals at the highest level being unable to adjust. But still - why create complications for yourself unnecessarily.

But you are correct. I'd say we lost because of general, overall listless play coupled with overall tactical weakness. Lots of fault to go around there today.

Ironically, one of the better performances today was by Kolo Toure, and playing where he did in a back 3 is just a terrible fit for his skill set at this point in his career.

The 3 at the back has been a nightmare all season. It's worked once against Spurs; on almost every other occasion it's been an unmitigated disaster.

Players are obviously uncomfortable playing it, and no logical reason for going with it today. Huge fuck-up on the part of Mancini

Anyone else worried about our goal difference? obviously I still believe we can win the title but we're really going to have to beat utd by 4 or 5 clear goals to swing this back in our favour which we know we can do.

I have revised my prediction to another last match end of the season decider instead of the three points victory margin I had calculated before this game.

I'm not sure what everyone's worried about?

Are you on drugs :) only some stupid silly fans can think yeah "we" will the title bla bla

forget the title Everton matches are the same as CL matches if you always play crap against Everton, Sunderland,... forget CL it happen that a team lose sometimes to some teams but not always
