Are we going to play the Nigerian anthem for Nacho??
Entente Cordiale maybe??Bit controversial but maybe too much?
What happens if Germans or Russians get killed in a terrorist attack - are we going to play their anthem probably not?
Way over the top.
Did everyone play our stuff in 2005?
We are sadly moving towards a world where there will be a minutes applause on every other minute of the game, a minutes silence before every game and a race to show how sad we at every act.
The England game showed solidarity with France, this idea is just fucking ridiculous.
I'm sorry but if my Mrs had been killed at a gig, PSG vs Monaco playing our national anthem wouldn't bring any crumb of comfort. On the one hand I think we're starting to approach overkill when it comes showing our respects at games. I can't remember another period in all the time I've been going to games where so many are marked with some kind of memorial, be it minutes applause, minutes silence and now National anthems.
On the other hand i'm happy to take part, it hardly takes much effort to show my respects and if it brings a crumb of comfort to those directly involved when hearing/seeing it then it can only be a positive thing.
I think that's known as 'sitting on the fence'...
Me neither mate, I suppose I'm looking at it at the showing solidarity side of things.I'm sorry but if my Mrs had been killed at a gig, PSG vs Monaco playing our national anthem wouldn't bring any crumb of comfort.
