everyone complain now

Mine

Dear David,

I am writing with much disappointment. Today, the above article was published. Having read the piece I cannot explain the fury I feel as a follower of Manchester City towards its author one Micheal Henderson. The journalist (though this is very loosely termed) has performed what can only be described as a cowardly despicable hatched Job on my club, but more insultingly its legions of fans aswell. In the article Mr Henderson insists our fans "Like to bolster (our) spirits by croaking Bluemoon". CROAKING, Mr Henderson clearly has not been to Eastlands of late as "croaking" is not the word I would use to describe our vocal support, generally acknowledged to be amongst the best in the league. Furthermore he brands our club as a "Laughing Stock for mearely daring to dream and showing ambition. I find it sad that your once highly regarded publication should beleive that challenging oneself and showing ambition are attributes not to be proud of, but to mock.

After having a brief look on the internet, it seems Mr Henderson has form for attacking Manchester City. Before last years Old Trafford derby he was among the plethora of so called journalists all too eager to stick the knife into our fans before we had even entered the stadium, indeed insisting that "it (was) likely the Silence (would be) broken" and that we use certain songs as "a grubby stick with which to beat (Manchester United)". I am sure you will recall that the silence was not in fact broken, quite the contrary, a great many writers had to issue pretty grovelling apologies in the wake of their failed predictions.

In February Last year Mr Henderson saw fit to poke further fun at my club over the signing of Benjani, a player who at the time was riding high in the goalscoring charts. He claimed that "Here (was) a man well-suited to the ground that Stuart Hall calls the Theatre of Base Comedy". Fast forward to todays peice and he says "Cook, by contrast, has anointed himself as a modern-day Diaghilev, chief impresario at the Theatre of Base Comedy, as Stuart Hall once dubbed it." I 'm sure you will spot that he has used the same analogy twice, in which case you must surely agree that this is quite simply lazy journalism.

It would seem that Mr Henderson has some kind of agenda against Manchester City. This being the case I find it quite odd that you continually choose to give him a mouthpeice with which to spread his hatred and bile. I firmly believe you and Mr Henderson owe ALL Manchester City fans a sincere and swift apology. Otherwise I can see an unprecedented deterioration of your readership in the Manchester area.

I look forward to reading your reply.

Regards

Jeez, reading the paranoia in this thread, anyone would think we had suddenly transformed into Newcastle fans.

Have you read the article, Zeb?

Heres mine sent to the PCC:

Myself and many others would like to bring this particular article on the Telegraph's website to your attention:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/mancity/4308353/Send-in-the-clowns---its-another-episode-in-the-sad-saga-of-Manchester-City.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... -City.html</a>

This is a disgusting portrayal of Manchester City football club and its fans.

I would like to point out this is not the first time Mr Henderson has portrayed us in a negative light.

City fans are deeply proud of their club and its history and find the article to be offensive.

And with regards to the following statement
Long-suffering fans of Manchester City (are there any other kind?) like to bolster their spirits by croaking Blue Moon – or those two lines of the song they can remember.

I find the ''two lines of the song they can remember'' statement to be insulting and Mr Henderson has just taken it too far.

Yours,
