If have the 11/12 squad.

Barry instead of Delph
De Jong instead of Fernando
Kompany instead of Kompany
Johnson instead of Navas
Tevez instead of Bony
Balotelli/Dzeko instead of Kelechi
Lescott instead or Mangala
Mancini instead of Pellegrini

Christ, how we've struggled to replace some of these players, De Jong, Barry and Tevez in particular.

I never really took to Tevez. Great player but his legacy is somewhat tarnished. Surprised he's your favourite striker, I'd pick Aguero over him every single day of the week.

Adore Sergio and all for THAT moment but Tevez must've been a nightmare for opposition defenders. Never stopped running and always gave 100% on the field despite his sketchy off-field antics.

In my lifetime I think the only ex player who'd get in his team would be Distin in his prime. He'd be perfect alongside Otamendi or Vinny.

I really hoped that Mangala was going to become another Distin when we signed him, The similarities were there: tall, quick, left footed, powerful, and, um, French.

Still not given up on Mangala, but he needs to develop Distin's composure and positional sense quickly.

I can think who I wouldn't want - tevez and de Jong, the first treated us like shit and for some reason because he tried hard (in the games he wasn't playing golf, in Argentina or Portugal or too fat to play) and was good he was loved. Even though he skipped the country on us 4 times, refused to come on, bad mouthed us, tried to ruin our league and FA cup wins and did as I understand it a lot more the club hushed up. De Jong the most overrated city player in my 35 years following us , a decent enough ball winning midfielder but his passing and positioning were terrible and he slowed the whole team. He was loved because of his last ditch tackle but if he had a positional brain and a tactical brain he wouldn't have needed to do them. Barry was 10x the player and amazingly some still rate de Jong higher when honestly Barry v de Jong in my eyes is like comparing Silva v Horlock (I love soupfer btw but he was no silva)

As to who I'd love to see!

Stuart Pearce in his prime, the leader, the psycho and the man we desperately need.

Robbie fowler in his prime - still think he could have been the best striker Englnd ever had and pre injury his finishing was amazing

Ali B in his prime

And for comedy fun purposes I'd love to see what wanchope would be like coming off the bench with this team

Good shout on Distin, but he's never been the same since the bolt was removed from his neck.
