My wife and I had booked a taxi to take us to John Lennon airport a couple of years ago. Making small talk with the - scouse - taxi driver, he asked where we were going and we said Spain. He asked us whereabouts and we said Madrid, that we'd been there before and really enjoyed it so we thought we'd go there again.

His response: 'Madrid? Is that a fishing village?'
