Fantastic. I swear I can see a few of those little Clangers running about - all with sky blue shirts. Not a RAG in sight.

How well is this club being run now? Not before time mind!

Well Done City.

No doubt the website will crash.

Some of us live a long way (250 +miles) from Eastlands and EVERY time I have tried to get anything for big events at City the website crashes.
I was on the phone for SEVEN hours to get my Hamburg ticket.
If we are to truely become a worldwide brand the owners need to realise that not only people who can walk to the stadium are City fans.(they are on the ball so I'm sure they do ) . I have already booked a hotel for the night of 17th so I can be there for the launch and one for the Masters too.

Not complaining, just stating a fact, not everyone south of Birmingham supports that lot from salford.

From OS:

The City of Manchester Stadium will play host to an incredible night of Manchester music on Friday July 17th as Doves headline an exclusive free gig for 2,500 fans and their best friend who purchase the new Manchester City home shirt from the Club’s website.
“Live from City”, an event jointly hosted by Manchester City and Umbro, the Club’s new sportswear partner, will bring together some of Manchester’s finest music acts who are also great supporters of the club. The line-up features:

• Doves – Mercury Prize-nominated band whose album 'The Last Broadcast' topped the charts and whose latest, 'Kingdom of Rust', is acclaimed their masterpiece by critics

• Mike Pickering – legendary Hacienda DJ and lifelong City fan

• Twisted Wheel – supported Oasis at their Heaton Park gigs

• Kid British – hotly tipped breakout act and their new single was BBC Radio 1’s ‘Record of the Week’ on the Scott Mills show

• The Answering Machine – recently toured with The Manic Street Preachers

Also joining them will be young musical talent from Manchester City’s Kickz programme which offers kids from 12-18 years the chance to be part of positive activity. And of course, no City gig would be complete without the MCFC Big Band.

City's 2009-10 season home kit, which will be available exclusively from City’s stores and via http://www.mcfc.co.uk, can be pre ordered online from July 1st and the first 2,500 people to do so will have the chance to request a pair of free tickets to this one-off event. Those fans who pre order will receive their shirts on 17th July, enabling ticket winners to wear it to the gig that evening.

Not only are Umbro and MCFC giving away 5,000 tickets, they’re also offering the chance for one budding Manchester DJ to play live at the event through a competition online at http://www.mcfc.co.uk from 1st July. Xfm’s Gareth Brooks and Mike Pickering will choose the winner who will support these fantastic acts.

Jimi Goodwin, lead singer of Doves said, “It is a great honour to be asked to headline this event. I’ve been a City supporter all my life, so playing to a crowd of 5,000 people with the City of Manchester Stadium in the background is going to be an amazing experience.”

Adio from Kid British added, “To be asked to play on the same bill as Doves, in front of such a big crowd and in the shadow of the City of Manchester stadium is huge.”

David Pullan, Brand and Marketing Officer from Manchester City said, “Manchester has a rich heritage of music acts and so many of these are Manchester City supporters. This is an event to celebrate the launch of the new home kit whilst tapping into Manchester’s eclectic culture and putting on a free event to give back to those fans that first purchase the shirt.”
Martin Prothero, Umbro’s Senior Vice President of Football said, “This is an exciting opportunity for both Umbro and Manchester City, two great Manchester brands, to thank the fans that have bought the new shirt. Manchester is as famous for its musical talent as its football and the joining of the two will mean Live from City will be a memorable night for City fans.”

July 18th, the day after the gig, marks the on-sale date of the new home kit as well as the first wearing of the strip by the players as they take to the pitch against the Orlando Pirates in the first of their pre-season games in South Africa. In celebration of this, Manchester City will be hosting a family day at the stadium, starting at 11am. A range of family activities and food and drink concessions will be available for fans’ enjoyment.

The Manchester City FC home kit will be on general sale from July 18th. Pre orders available from July 1st at http://www.mcfc.co.uk . To secure a free pair of tickets to the gig fans must pre-order a home shirt and opt in to receive the tickets. For those not lucky enough to get a pair, there will also be giveaways in local media.

The Manchester City FC away kit will be available from August.

The Manchester City FC third kit is due out in the autumn. Launch date to be confirmed.
