Expectations for next season

I expect that next season we wil do be comfortably in the top six after sacking Hughes and appointing a world class manager who will buy world class players this summer

Depends whether Hughes is in charge next season or not. If he remains in charge throughout the summer and lasts until the end of next season then I expect more or less the same sort of position or there abouts. In the summer he'll sign a load of 'comfort zone' players aswell. That is my expectation of him anyway. Won't be relegated, won't qualify for Europe. Another season finishing mid-table resulting in Robinho leaving due to promises not being kept in terms of where the club is going.

With a new manager, that is dependant on his identity and what signings he makes and how he wants us to play. It'll be more exciting but in my opinion and at the end of the day he can't do much worse in terms of tactical ability and signing comfort zone players than Hughes can he?

With Hughes 5th/6th.
With a new manager (and fresh start for the 3rd season in a row) probably lower.

pmsl.

Sven did exceptionally well getting a new group of players to gell so quickly in such a short time but it all fell apart in the second half of the season. Look at Fergie, he didn't have a great first season at United and look where they are now. If we get a new manager and everything doesn't click instantly we'll be in the same situation calling for his head again. It doesn't work.

*sings* WE'VE GOT ROBINHO! We also tried to get Kaka; not Hughes fault we didn't. Anyway a team full of superstars wouldn't win anything (Madrid) which is why united have players like Fletcher.

It's alright, I'm familiar with the 'stability' argument. It's been mentioned on here once or twice before. I just think that anyone who thinks a team managed by Hughes would finish above a team managed by Mourinho needs help.

Sacking crap managers has always worked for us. Up until we employ yet another crap manager. With Thaksin's man going/gone, we can only hope for a better appointment from the new chairman.

We've got a team that haven't been playing together very long as it is, bringing in a new manager would undoubtedly bring in a huge shift in style and tactics etc as well as a lot of new players and the team would have to learn to play alongside each other all over again. I'm not saying Jose wouldn't be great here and Hughes hasn't done much to make the situation better for himself but in my opinion we should give him another season.
