we must win:
LEAGUE, CARLING, FA CUP, FAIR PLAY AWARD
or else everyone on this board will be negative, or am i setting my sights too low

you missed out the FA youth cup

and manchester senior cupand a double over the rags, ah well :P

thats more like it ;-)

5th or 6th and qualify for europe via the league
A good cup run

not an expectation but a deep and heartfelt prayer that what ever happens it does not involve Mourinho or drogba

ok say we keep hughes and we spend 150-200 mill in summer we get to semi of league cup quarter of fa cup and finish 6th you would be happy.

Sorry but that is bullshit people would come on her spouting, 'look we have spent X million and hughes cant get us better than everton/villa and they only spent 20mill etc etc... i want mourinho/jol/mancini'

people always want more

what are everyone's?

looking at the manager, the squad and the performance today, we are a hundred miles from cracking the top 4.

I know we had a few injuries, but the weakness of the squad is obvious. Elano gets injured and we had very lttle options to change things. I think we're gonna need about 6 top quality signings in the summer: two strikers, a centre half, two central midfielders and a creative midfielder.

With regards to Hughes, complaints about his tactics may be justified but its harder to change things from the start and mid-game when you've got nothing on the bench. His substitutions made an impact today at least. His use of formation may be to suit the players we've got. Give him the summer to 'complete his squad' and we'll see how he wants us to play.

I think the top 6 should be the aim, provided we keep Hughes. I cant see us being able to lure the world stars that we would need to get ahead of Arsenal. The top 4 can only be achieved next year if we got Mourinho and a host of world stars.
No major surgery required. The players are as good if not better than Everton/Villa. They just need time to grow together as a team

Top 6, if we get a centre-forward who can hold the ball up front - maybe Bojinov.

Central defender, or Kompany to the back 4

If only it were that simple?Surely if it was that straightforwrd the "tactical genius" would've worked it out?

depends on how successful the traansfer window is and that is something that MH cannt really control......he can bid for all the players we want as fans but he may or may not get them.....

we must improve our striker options.....if we get a couple of decent strikers in and add a decent centre half then i think we will at least finish 6th-8th.....and that would be progress......

im not going to even consider cup runs as we all know that cup games are one off games where anything can happen an form can often go out the window........

anything more than top 6 next season would be nothing short of amazing (we would have to do very very well in the transfer window).......

we have to remember that all those teams that finsh above us....esp the likes of villa, spurs, everton who all have stronger squads than us at present will also seek to improve and raise the bar.......we are playing a huge catch up game where our immediate (and distant) competitors are also trying to improve all the time.......and this must be remembered
