Not sure if related but the Texaco garage At the bottom of cheetham hill road near strangeways has been closed by police. Lots of armed police at the seen and sounds like gunshots have been heard

@Blue Maverick Probably wouldn't have... All i'm saying a set perimeter around a venue with sniffer dogs working it would give me more a piece of mind...
A dog would give you more of a warning once it picks up the scent of a bomb giving you a chance to take action. I just think we should use more of them they're much more of a deterrent than armed policeman IMO...

Went into town this evening for a meal. We had a walk over to St Anne's Square to pay our respects.
It was very busy, but eerily quiet and really sad.
It's also sad seeing the armed police dotted around there, but that's the shitty world we live in now unfortunately.
We had a stroll down Oxford Rd afterwards and it was as quiet as i've ever seen it, sad times.
