Eye-test

I was told I needed glasses about ten years ago. I wasn't so sure and I had my eyes tested 3 years ago at a different place and they said my eyesight was fine. I know it's not as good as it was 20 years ago but I think I'm still quite a long way from needing glasses.

My gran had cataracts when I was at kid. I used to go to hers for breakfast before going to school. I didn't realise how much her eyes would improve once she'd had the op done. She used to wave me off every morning from the window and I would head for the bus stop and then duck down an alley to wag it. First time I tried it after she's had her cataracts removed I was busted. She bollocked me but didn't grass me up to my mum.

Remembering that has brought a smile to my face because I'd forgotten all about it until Russ mentioned his cataracts.

Time to squint !

I had an eye test today and my prescription has improved so much that I'm going to join the RAF regiment as a sniper.

Seriously though, get regular eye tests once you hit 40.

Mine has changed so much in 2 years its unbelievable.

Weaker lenses and razor sharp vision coming soon :)

Congratulations on the news!

I had my eyes tested about 2 years ago as I was having headaches at work looking at a monitor all day, got a pair of glasses and everything is sorted now.

Funnily enough I'm fine when looking at a monitor at home, the only other place I really need the glasses is when I'm at the match. The advertising boards seem to play havoc with my eyes. If I try and watch without them it's as if I'm watching in 2D!

I used to be able to sex a gnat at 150 yds not long ago, realised yesterday that I can hardly read a motorway sign.
Motorway signs were what did it for me, don't do detail work these days and my eyes are a 100% better. Drove for 3 weeks without glasses scary but exiting

A&E :)

Needed specs since i was 5, 19 now and theyre still on a slow, steady decline yearly. Wonder how bad they'll get before they stop getting worse bit by bit each year.

Anyone had laser eye surgery and does it hurt?

Yes, I had mine done at Moorfields back in 2005 and no, you don't feel a thing. Slightly disconcerting that you can smell your eyeballs burning though. I had it done for distance vision, which is still perfect, though as we all become more short-sighted as we get older, I now need glasses for reading (I'd eventually have needed bi-focals if I'd not had it done).

Overall, I'm very glad I did it.
