if we hadn't had somebody to make the 'big decisions' over the years like ousting Tony Book in favour of the return of Big Mal, the sacking of Rodney Rodney, the new roof on the Main Stand, the exec boxes in the Platt Lane, putting seats in the North Stand, selling Asa; selling Peter Barnes and Gary Owen ........................... then just imagine what a mess the club could have ended up in.

So Gary in just over 12 months getting rid of Hughes, bringing the best players in the world to at least start thinking of if not signing for City, a UEFA Cup Q Final a League Cup Semi, still in spitting distance of Man U in league points (note they have usally doubled our points tally by now) in a position where genuine Euro Qualification for Europa will be seen as failure, note Tony Book was the last man to do this for us, proudly stating we are the best club in the world
