I think Alonso was a little too cautious on the final sector after a mighty start to the lap.

And on the flip side Verstappen absolutely nailed that final sector. He was literally skimming the barriers at multiple occasions.

Brilliant qualifying it must be said.

Monaco is more exciting when qualifying rather than the race itself.

Anyways Max on pole.

My cunning plan is to watch the first three racing laps.

And if it has settled down into procession then switch over to the Formula E race that was held at Monaco a few weeks back on the Channel 4 on demand service and watch that instead. Apparently it was a good race with loads of overtaking.

Then an hour later I'll come back to the F1 and watch the end.

Watched the start of the Monaco GP, first time since Hamilton cheated out of the championship. Switched off after 5 laps of utter boredom.
