Oh well. There's only 22 other races to bore us.

Meanwhile there's the rather crazy Nurburgring 24 Hours. With 100+ cars competing, from full blown Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes etc racing cars down to VW Golfs, Astras and Dacia's sharing the same bit of tarmac starting at 3pm on Saturday.

Qualifying throughout the next few days.

Some new TV angles at Monaco this year now F1 have taken over the production.

Shame qualifying is the most exciting part about this race. As it's more of a driver's home seasonal piss up.

It’s pretty special watching the drivers knit together a perfect lap in qualifying round Monaco.

On another point we saw Sebastian Vettel drive one of the old Williams cars round Silverstone using carbon neutral fuels. Is this going to be a way of making the cars smaller by keeping the combustion engine and removing the battery? Would be one way to keep Monaco on the calendar.

Interesting.

They'll find a way a keep Monaco.

Drivers home gig they won't want to lose it. Probably at the expense of GB or Spa. Even though Spa has just spent shitloads upgrading the track and facilities to keep it.

Liberty seem hell bent on moving races out of Europe and replacing them with emerging markets such as India.

I'd like to see South Africa get a go again. I doubt the cash is there for them to do it mind.

Paddy Lowe who was in charge at Mercedes back in the earlier days is developing a carbon neutral fuel. However the cost per litre to produce it is extremely high, with development surely they could bring the cost down in the future. Would solve an infinite amount of problems for the planet but for F1 we could see the return of a V10 engine with no hybrid tech attached.

Think Liberty are trying to extract too much out of the golden goose with too many races and these extra sprint sessions which devalue the Sundays.

I'm thinking watch qualy live and then skip the race unless there's rain in the air.

Qualifying is always a good watch at Monaco but the race has lured me into a early afternoon nap one too many times.
