Fair play to Verstappen, that was a very professional drive.

Miami can get in the bin though. Awful tacky over the top American rubbish.
Summed it up nicely.

Maybe for the Austin grand prix they'll add of bit of drama by letting a mass shooter onto the tracks?

LL Cool J is an old man………and that makes me sad. But not for him.

The track at a Miami is awfully tight. Not that it matters, really. The only hope is that checo can take down Darth Vader, but it doesn’t look likely

And all Horner cares about is winning the constructors title. If Checo helps with that, he will stay. Can’t imagine he would have a better shot to win with any other constructor at this point.

Well done Max.

Very telling what Anthony Davidson is saying. Max getting loads of information about how to play the race to maximize his chances and Perez getting nothing at all over the radio.

If anybody had any hope of a Red Bull fight for the championship then this will tell you everything you need to know.

Don’t think there was anything Perez could do anyway. The red bulls are so much quicker than everyone else, the grid position at the start was nowhere near as much an advantage as Verstappen being able to start on hard tyres.

Sure I heard them say ninth to first has only happened four times. I imagine none of the other times were as inevitable as this one though. The other manufacturers really have to sort themselves out.

Time for Perez to ring his agent and find him elsewhere for next season, if Verstappen is coming back in the field and obliterating you. Horner and his cronies will not want you.
The reason Danny Ric was brought back into the fold.

Perez deserves better for his talents than a team moulded in the image of Verstappen.

Perez will be more than happy with his lot imo. The amount of teams that can actually win races on genuine pace is staggeringly small now and in the past.

He had to wait 190 races before his first win which was a freak win due to a number of factors luckily going his way (plus an incredible drive).

So if you've got a choice on whether you want to be the top dog in a midfield team or a number 2 driver who can still win races when the opportunity arises then for me he's in the best seat available.

Sure Red Bull do favour Max but they'd be crazy not to. If you look at the drivers on the grid Verstappen is one of, if not the fastest driver and he's still young.

Hamilton and Alonso are past their peaks and soon to retire. Leclerc hasn't quite materialised into the world beater I thought he would with too many errors. Sainz is another Perez i.e very good but not great. Then the rest such as Russell, Norris, Ocon etc are unproven at the very sharp end.

The Red Bull core trio of Horner, Verstappen and Newey is world beating and I'm sure they're eager to keep them together for as long as possible.

And who would you replace him with that would either improve the set up or be quicker than Max?

As a team, it makes sense to feed your strengths. Haaland is a strength, it would be stupid not to use that to the teams advantage.

Good question, Riccardo could be an option or there is also talk of Tsunoda moving up from Alpha Tauri. I dunno if it will be too soon for him though. Red Bull are actively looking at other drivers, I don’t think he will be there next season.

I quite like Tsunoda, he shows promise, but as you say, maybe too soon.

Whoever/if somebody comes in, they'll also be playing second fiddle to Max, because I think he's simply the quickest. Checo is a quick and consistent driver and ideal for the team, so why make a change?

He is a good driver and showed it last week how quick he can be, Formula one is brutal and there is always someone who can take your seat . It similar how Mercedes disposed of Bottas when he has been a lot more stable for them compared to all the internal turmoil when Rosberg was there.

Good to see a sensible balanced post on this thread which is largely full of bitter moronic bullshit.

You've summed things up nicely.

Agreed.............far too much of this, 'if you don't agree with me you are wrong', which seems so prevalent in today's society or simply spouting worthless prejudice.

Nothing wrong with having opposing views and discussing it.

1. Max Verstappen is a very talented driver and probably the quickest on the grid today......discuss. :)

2. Max Verstappen is a very likeable, yet misunderstood individual........discuss. :) :) :)
