F1 2025 Season

The hatred goes back to 2021 at the Yas Marina circuit, and the controversial safety car episode. Was he guilty of pulling a fast one? Absolutely. But he didn't make the rules, he just took advantage of them. Does anyone seriously think Lewis wouldn't have done the same, if the roles were reversed? Of course he would. And before I'm accused of being a MV fanboy, I've never warmed to the bloke. He's reckless at times on the track, and he comes across as an arrogant fucker. But you can say the same about a lot of the great drivers down the years. Schumacher, Senna, Mansell, Rosberg, Vettel and yes, Hamilton (always thought he came across as, if not arrogant, aloof). Is it that arrogance that gives them that edge?

What happened in 2021 wasn’t down to either driver or their personal choices. I’m not convinced Wolff would have been in the race directors ear saying what Horner was had the roles been reversed.

You could argue the same for team principals as you do drivers in terms of that ruthless streak though.

Not so sure about Wolff. He's a team principal, he has to be ruthless. Part of the job description.

True but he strikes me as someone that knows the rules inside out and wouldn’t intentionally try and break them that brazenly. I may be wrong though.
He's German.

Of course he knows the rules upside down and back to front.

:)

That's why Abu Dhabi destroyed him.

Personally I would have gone balls deep for the legal action after that farce but he has the integrity not to destroy the sport by doing so. You could bet Karen Horner and Red Bull would have sued if Masi had decided that race for Hamilton.

However, I wouldn't put it past him to maybe have Antonelli do McClaren another favour like he did today.

I’m not really saying it as a criticism (though I will say I dislike him immensely) but Horner has always come across as a lot more ruthless than him for me.
I get the impression they are both cunts. But Toto comes across as having stronger moral/ethical boundaries than Horner.

Christian's private life seems to prove that point.

Regarding 2021, people also curiously seem to forget that Hamilton also cheated in the turn 6 incident by not giving the place back and gaining an advantage.
They were quite happy to agree with the stewards regarding that incident, but not with what happened later in the race that Max had no say in.

Because there’s a difference between a stewards ruling and a race director getting the rules wrong.

Like I said earlier, neither driver is to blame for what happened.

True and it's pretty embarassing to see the level of hate on here towards Max.

Even those that don’t like him will say he’s a great driver. He was up against Hamilton and is now up against Norris though, people will favour the British drivers. That and McLaren are more liked than Red Bull too.

I like Max a lot more than I do his dad!

lol at including Rosberg in that list.

The luckiest fucker to ever win a championship and he knew it, going up against Hamilton completely fried his brain hence he quit.

There’s a difference between a reasonable interpretation by Stewards and changing the fucking rules for the last lap of the entire season, with the Championship on the line, and clearly favoring one drivers situation over the other’s.

I literally stopped watching every race after that race, outcome, and subsequent decisions, because it’s simply too difficult to believe in a sport where supremos can put a big thumb on the scales.

Sadly, football feels like it’s racing towards that point, too, at times! (Pun intended!)

If so, he was “lucky” to go out on top, intact, with money falling out of his pockets, in a sport that can quickly change your life for the worst or leave you chasing a dream you’ll never satisfy. More power to him…and I didn’t even like him!
