F1 2026

I realise that it's early in the season, and he'll have downs as well as ups. But could Antonelli actually win the title this season, becoming the youngest ever F1 champion?

I have Kimi now as winning it. He has the mentality he has the car, I’ve seen enough! Unless the car drops off massively can only see Kimi winning it..

With upgrades to come in Canada, Merc look well set and in Antonelli, they’ve a driver who certainly does know how to win consistently now.

Great weekend for Mclaren as well.

I see Max was the driver of the day. He seems to be popular everywhere except the UK. I wonder why?

Red Bull/Ford have done an amazing job in their first year as a power unit manufacturer by already competing at the front. Without the faux pas at the start Max could have been on the podium.

Not after his retrospective 5 second penalty.

There was a 24 second gap between Norris in second and Piastri in third. It’s highly possible that Verstappen could have finished third well clear of Piastri.

Ifs buts and maybes.

I see Norris has called for the dropping completely of the battery with both Piastri and Antonelli critical of the current situation.

Fangirling isn't for Brits.

Kimi is looking like the next superstar. Russell is acting like a spoiled kid in comparison. Should be a good race tonight.

I dunno... We've just been fortunate to have a long line of top drivers that are in the mix since the Mansell era really.

The talent gap between Hill and Hamilton i.e the 'Coulthard/early Button' era I remember most people supporting the best drivers not just the Brits.

F1 is quite unusual in Western sports because a lot of people support the (best usually) drivers and not the teams. It's a bit like in India with their cricketers where they follow the big players and not the teams themselves.

With Hamilton, Norris, Russell as top class drivers we don't really need to look beyond them if we want to stay loyal to our country.

I went into the season rooting for George but fuck it, I’m all in on Kimi now. The kid has that star power and George seems more than a little entitled/seeing his arse.

Obviously I’ll be rooting for Lando and McLaren but assuming they continue to be just a step behind Merc all season I want Kimi to win it. Then if Lando beats Oscar and Lewis beats Charles I’ll be buzzing.

This might be premature but there’s a dash of the Sennas about Kimi. He’s pure and fearless but with that open warmth about him that Senna had.

The likes of Schumacher and Verstappen were phenomenal talents but nasty snide cheating cunts about it. With Senna, and I’d also throw Lewis into this bracket, there’s still that kid in a go kart inside them that shines through.

He’s got that magic in him. There’s something really genuine and special about Kimi.

Nothing will ever beat Jenson’s masterclass in the rain but we could be on for an all time great Canadian GP tonight. Sprint and quali were absolutely box office.

Buzzing for the race more so than the game this afternoon tbh.

That’s if I can stay awake for it after a day on the pints in the sunsheeiiinneee.

Insane call from McLaren to start on the inters.

I’d have put Lando on hards after the pit and see whether they could get to the end of the race and if not, whack on a soft and go balls out for the last 5 laps.

Sticking on a medium now is neither here nor there.

Daft strategy. If they were 9th or 10th on the grid then it would have been worth a punt but they've just given up decent positions

Or if you’re unsure about the weather split the strategy.

Start Lando on meds and Oscar on inters, fucking crazy to start both the them on inters when both drivers were saying it’s wrong.
