F1 Thread - 2018 Season

I personally think that Formula 1 needs to reduce the aero designs to get back to proper racing.

Yes the downforce for drivers is incredibly important and basically glues the car to the road when you have a clear track, but be behind another car and the dirty air just doesn't allow you close enough.

I think this video shows it best.

So hurtling around a corner and being within close proximity really isnt something that happens a lot anymore, which obviously gave more passing opportunities.

Look at the racing from the 70's and the 2nd clip/footage shows just what I'm trying to get across.

Is this true to an extent?
I suggest you watch today's race mate, plenty of racing to keep people entertained

F1 is slowly falling apart and safety is killing the sports. the rush and the fear has long gone the new wishbone is shocking what next rib cage yes i understand the safety of the driver but that is what makes you a better driver the one who takes the chances with a tight over taking and late breaking. the new cars are just remote control by the team and the driver is a autopilot

how many of the drivers today would jump in nigel mansell old car or ayrton senna old car and win a race with just skill of driving it around with not much help from the pits and the race season is daft and the points even worst. but worst of all is the rules and the race stewarding with there little stop and go penalties and tyres you have to race with speed in coming into the bit lane its a minefield for penalties and grid places for changing a part on your car ??????

Nigel Mansell's old car, the Williams steered into corners for him. Lol. It was that and the following season's rule changes that caused Seena's death. Williams just couldnt get ready in time. The Senna documentary shows this and is a brilliant watch

I must admit i have only watched the Melbourne GP this year. I went last year and it actually helped me to walk away from what was a dying sport, but, i am willing to give it another crack.
Used to love the days of Senna, Alesi, Mansell, Piquet, Berger, Prost, etc. If uts heading back to those days then im in.
