I wouldn't say that race was, maybe interrupted by the safety car but that's a feature of the cars being much closer in performance this season, which is great to see. Hopefully the 2021 changes will aid and not hurt this as we're getting great competition and entertainment. In both Australia & today I think it's mistakes by the chaser that have decided it. Lewis in Aus and Seb today. China was the only real outlier strategically with the Red Bulls and the chaos there was Max crashing into people.

If the safety car doesn't happen bottas pits and vettel wins the race. Not complaining as sometimes it goes for you but that safety car took a nailed on win from seb

maybe, alternatively Bottas is the only one on ultrasofts and hunts Vettel down. Seb actually had an advantage because he had an open door into turn 1 and fresh ultrasofts, which he wouldn't have had on his softs if Bottas had 9/10 laps on fresh ultrasofts.

The race wasn't decided by the safety car, and didn't stop Seb winning. Seb stopped himself winning by botching the move into turn 1.

I think what we saw in Bahrain was evidence Bottas isn't the type to hunt down a lead car

well on 2 compound fresher tyres he could well have caught him, and at that point with that long straight he may have got such a run that he wouldn't have needed a divebomb, who knows, maybe Bahrain would have been in his mind and he stuck it down there. Either way, it was the way the race was going and Seb had an open door into turn 1 and messed it up. Even if he'd not got through he'd have had 3 more laps and Bottas ended up with a puncture anyway.

I agree seb should've kept it clean but that wasn't my original point. My point is if the safety car doesn't happen then Bottas has to catch Vettel and pass him.
Something he couldn't do when Vettels tyres was absolutely shot in a track that's easier to pass than Baku

Was outraced by seb and valterri but has still picked up a win

Like in the first race when a safety car gave Seb the win? Plus he’d have beaten Bottas who was ahead only as he hadn’t pitted.

Twice he's been screwed by the safety car, oh well.
Think Ferrari have got the fastest car and this will eventually even out

Just can't be doing with F1 any more- its been whored out to various TV stations and some really weird locations to dish up what is often anodyne "racing". I much prefer BTCC which by a system of weight and grid changes gives you exciting racing, overtakes and a far wider number of potential race winners in the field - all from places you have heard of like Knock Hill and Brands Hatch.
