In terms of transportation, a small percentage of Cup Final fans use the method of train travel.

Additional coach services which National Express are running, including directly from Wembley Stadium, mean there are more options for fans returning north after the game from Wembley on Saturday 11 May.

Translation, we don't give a shit about the fans or how long it takes them to get to and from the ground.

One of the current "Commercial partners" of the FA. No conflict of intrest with trains....

How many people do you get on a train ? Can't be more than a thousand surely. How are they getting the figures that a small percentage use the train ?

The FA Cup ticket criteria have been published.
Wigan get 21,000 initially and a further 4,000 if they sell the 21k.
City get 25,000 fullstop.

Wigan have announced that tickets will be sold first to season ticket holders a max of two each! (They sold just over 60% of their allocation for the semi final and the ground was 22,000 short of capacity but the tickets will be in demand for hangers on).

City have to spread 25,000 seats amongst 36,000 season card holders so the 12,000 access card holders (Blue Membership) are unlikely to get a look in.

Seat prices £45 lowest and £115 highest.

The Stadium holds 83,000 or this game I think so that means the FA hangers on and debenture holders get 33,000 seats.
Well that seems fair does it not!!

They’ve also delayed the KO until 5:15 to maximise their revenue from TV which screws up the travelling supporters from the North West but heh, the winning team get £1.9m and the losers get £0.9m of the £25m that the game generates so that’s only fair and reasonable, innit? (The losing semi finalists get £450k ea (so that’s less than a million) from the £15m the two games netted.

Well there just taking the p*ss out of fans

Agree with you overall - but I reckon a lot of those 'FA hangers on' tickets will end up with city fans. Tis how I got one last time.

National Express should run the coaches at non profit prices. Winners all round considering the good publicity they would get.

Only a small percentage use trains because all the fuckers have left by the end of the game.

So c. 8 hours travelling time for a game that, hopefully, wil last ninety minutes. It's ok though, we can get a national express coach with no air con and no windows there and back. How many £115 tickets would they have to sell to put on enough trains from Wembley central to Wigan and Manchester to meet the demand?

Story on the Daily Fail website about a possible charter train. On phone so can't link.

Seen in another thread (sorry cant remember which) that the last time this came up the FA did their own!!! research and got a figure of 3000 travelling by train.

Seems on low side to me.
